I would also like to see both of them out of our country ASAP. Can anyone give an explanation as to why they are being permitted to stay and given a platform to spew their hate speech against us?
Only think I could come up with so far is that the D.C. leadership is allowing it because its good for GOP politically? Still, if true, it is absolutely maddening.
Thank you very much for the links!

Explosion Causes Center City Evacuations (Philadelphia - 9/21/06)
PHILADELPHIA - September 21, 2006 - An underground explosion in Center City has led to the evacuation of several buildings.
It happened around 1:30pm near 16th and Chestnut streets.
Apparently, there was an underground cable fault when PECO was attempting to switch to a different circuit. this resulted in some type of malfunction.
So far, several high rises (Center Square, Liberty One and Liberty Two) have been evacuated and there are thousands of people on the street.
Power has been lost to a number of customers and there's no word when power will be restored. PECO crews are on location trying to fix the problem.
CNN Pipeline was just showing a feed of this...but they lost it....the image was all messed up
BK if this doesn't work...go to my above Article Link and click on video feed from the 6abc news channel.
Here's a long thread about Drudge's headline:

looks like a pretty big incident...
Thanks for the link. Looks like a lot of smoke coming out of that manhole!
Me...I am not buying that...
well, I am listening to Philly Fire via the internet...must be a bad feed since I cant hear much traffic. But they did say there is another hazmat incident and no hazmat units are available since they are all downtown.
The following photos show the area where this is happening:
Liberty One
Tallest building in Pennsylvania.
- First building in Philadelphia to break the gentlemen's agreement not to exceed the height of the William Penn statue on City Hall.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. near 16th and Chestnut Streets. PECO spokesman Michael Wood told Action News that a customer incorrectly tried to switch cables, which overloaded the system sparking the fire. Wood said gasses built up causing the explosion. Several manhole covers around 15th Street blew off.
Fire officials declared the situation under control at 3:39 p.m.
"Yep..to me too...but I just call a friend who just started working in Philadelphia...mainly to see if she is one of those out on the streets. It is a few blocks from her, they have local news on a tv in the office...and are being told that it is nothing serious...just some generator problems under a bldg. caused by PECO workers (Local electric service provider).
Me...I am not buying that..."
That was an awfully big explosion for a generator. My mother is in an office building dead smack between Centre Square and Liberty One on Market Street at 16th, which is the opposite end of the block where the explosion is being said to have taken place. She's on the 30th Floor and everyone there heard the explosion. That office building hasn't been evacuated and hasn't lost power.
Thanks Teri..I hope your mom is not delayed getting out of the city...hopefully she drove. One of the reports stated that rail systems were working...but some also stated that smoke was coming out of some of the underground access stairs.
The UN should be escorted out of the US now and the former UN building should be turned into housing and/or a commercial mall with office buildings for rent.
