I’m hearing all kinds of disturbing, though predictable, stories about a Clintonista offensive against “The Path to 9/11,” an ABC documentary written and produced by Cyrus Nowrasteh ("Into the West"), and directed by David Cunningham ("To End All Wars"). I haven’t seen it yet (although I hope to this weekend), but it is already drawing rave reviews from people who have (the piece is reviewed at FrontPage, here).
Apparently, the documentary recounts the bureaucratic bungling and lack of action against al Qaeda that was pervasive prior to the September 11 atrocities. It is by no means, I understand, pro-Bush. It is, instead, an effort to present history accurately. This evidently has many former Clinton officials and apologists in their default kill-the-messenger mode. Great pressure is being brought to bear on ABC and Disney to reopen the editorial process at this late stage (the documentary is supposed to air on September 10-11) so that the years 1993-2001 may remain forever airbrushed.
Will they succeed? This bears watching.
I wonder if this will be brought up by Stephy on his Sunday show???

Buzz Patterson, that wrote that book is coming out with a new one soon...I can't remember the name of it though..
let me see if i understand correctly:
we CAN produce a mocumentary showing President Bush assassinated because of the war in Iraq but we CAN'T show a miniseries that explains who the last administration may hve played some kind of role in the vents leading up to Sept. 11.

I think he knows the producer of the movie. I'm not positive but I think I heard that.
Rush mentioned that the PRODUCER is his friend.

I wonder what the docs Sandy Berger smuggled out of the National Archives might have had to do with any of this...

I think it has been speculated that the papers Berger stole had something to do with Bubba's lack of an attempt to get Bin Ladin when he was "offered"...
I may be wrong..but, that is my recollection.
Well, you know why I am? Because ABC didn't tell the Toons to go urinate up a rope straight off. But then, after what happened to Triple Cross, I guess I should've seen this coming.
... that would have been by the Sudanese.... i know all about that -- i've heard the docs have more to do with clinton's refusal to okay steps that would have made 9-11 more unlikely... which may jibe with what the other posters are saying about the content of the ABC program.
I did not know that. "Into The West" was very good.
