Jewels, when you say tartar powder I assume you are talking about cream of tartar. Is that correct? I'd like to try it.

I hear you, I figure it's hamburger even if they call it ground beef, it's the price. Hamburger is less then ground beef. Makes no never mind to me.

Hardly anyone has heard of cornbread let alone have a mix. We do have Betty Crocker bisquick mix now I found that in ASDA a couple of weeks ago.

Our make of cake mixes are Greens but I do not know anyone who actually buys and makes cakes with them people tend to either bake from scratch have shop bought cakes etc.

You can find pancake and Yorkshire pudding mix for the life of me I do not know why because you have to add milk and egg to them so basically all the mix is is flour.

No we do not we have a maderia cake which is probably your butter cake.

That is quite dense and very fatty if you leave a bit on kitchen paper you will have a grease mark almost immediately.

Really, now I have learned something. I am not from the southern United States so cornbread is not a staple here, but the mix is available and I like it. It's just not that prevalent here in the northern United States. Different regions, different foods, but you can usually get any kind of food you want at any American store.

We have all kinds of cake mixes, an entire aisle really.

Probably the same as here, they put it through a grinder and it looks like sausage before being tubed. I prefer sausage without a tube.

Hardly anyone has heard of cornbread let alone have a mix. That is probably because corn was indigenous to America and was imported to Europe upon the discovery of the new world.

Oh Tom, that sounds like a GREAT idea for storing logs. And a lot cheaper than the ones I've seen advertised. And as long as they're off the ground, we'll meet local regulations. Thank you.
