Both your comments on this thread, and your "'tator column" linked above are excellent ... thanks for your observations.
I hope, and furthermore believe, you are accurate.
Pingster!
THE ONLY POLL THAT MATTERS IS THE ONE IN NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE OF DEMO AND BLOWHARD NATION TROLLS WHO WANT TO THROW THE ELECTION TO THE DEFEATOCRATS. REMEMBER--PUTTING DEMS INCHARGE OF NAT'L SECURITY IS LIKE PUTTING CHILD MOLESTERS IN CHARGE OF DAY CARE!!!!!!!!!!!
Tator, I have followed your comments about the Republican ground game for the past couple of years. During the same time frame that Rove has done his work do you think that the Democrat ground game has deteriorated? I know some of them went stupid when they got all that Soros money and thought they could just buy new voters. Aside from that nonsense, are the Dems knocking and dragging just like they always did, or are they forgetting some of what they used to know about getting out the vote?
I'm hoping that they're still doing their darndest, because if they can't take Congress even with a good ground game then it's probably true that they just aren't birthing enough Democrat babies to restore their majority.
More like suicidal, and in, IMO, about 95% of the DUmmie cases, more like islamofascist homicidal(i.e take out as many innocent people as a maniac can).
Oh, so true. The DemonRats are about to fight the second battle of Verdun in CT with a DemonRat on each side. Like the WWI battle of Verdun, it's going to consume untold quantities of people and treasure, mostly for nothing as far as the DemonRats are concerned.
Newsweak ran a few polls in 2004 showing the Traitor with a similar lead over Bush and we all know what happened.
Oh, dear, Nancy Pelosi won't be pleased.
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
More good news!
Starting with 1980 and continuing to 2004 the Democratic turn out in Ohio was as follows 1.732, 1.825, 1.939, 1.985, 2.148, 2.156, and 2.741 million votes. Compare that to the Republican turn outs for the same years... 2.206, 2.678, 2.416, 1.894, 1.859, 2.351,and 2.839.
As you can see the 2.678 million people that voted for Reagan in 1984 did not come out of the Democratic ranks. The Democratic turn out in 1984 was higher than it was in 1980.
Lets go back to 1968 to 1976. Look what happened. In 1968 Republicans got 1.791 Million votes to the Democrats 1.700 million votes. But in 1972 Republicans got 2.441 million votes to the Democrats 1.558. However in 1976 Republicans got 2.000 million to Democrats 2.011.
You can see that in 1972 the Democrat ground game could not overcome the people who voted for Nixon rather than the Cut and Run Democrats.
That is the one election in 30 years that we can show that Democrats refused to vote for the Democratic candidate.
The media gets a huge amount of its information from Democrats. Democrats can safely tell the media anything. However if Republicans tell the media anything it will be told to the Democrats in minutes. So the sources for the media are Democrats.
Consider the Cut and Run policies of MoveOn.Org and Lamont do in fact reduce Democrat turn out.. if not give some Democratic votes to Republicanss. The cut and run policy also ads a lot of Republican voters to the Republican ranks.
It is also true that the Republican ranks are thinned by the Illegal Mexican issue and the gasoline issue. But all the polls I have seen show the war issue greatly overshadows the illegal Mexican and gasoline issues. Plus the Cut and Run issue is a Democratic negative issue.
Now what about the vaunted Democrat get out the vote effort. If you look at the numbers you can see they are essentially ... "who voted last time"... "get them and their kids to the polls".
The Democrats are largely a get out the base effort. Republicans are targeting all voters who will likely vote Republican. They have a much larger potential vote.
What I am saying is Democrats turn out may be low.. Republican turn out will be higher .. not as high as presidential years, but high enough to win.
Now as to your real question. There is no status quo in politics. If Democrats do things that help them win, Republicans will copy them. And if Republicans do things that win, Democrats will copy them too. But Democrats are slow to catch on. They have felt since 1994 that the election results were an aberration. I don't see how they can continue to buy that for much longer.
