Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart and University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron are expecting a baby in the fall, PEOPLE has learned.
Leinart, 23, one of PEOPLE's 2006 Most Beautiful People, graduated from USC in December 2005 and lives in Los Angeles and Arizona.
Cameron, a 20-year-old USC junior, will sit out the upcoming basketball season.
"It's an exciting time in their life," says a source who knows both athletes. "They both have support from their families."

Well, if they did do the right thing - marrying, THEN having the baby - I'd celebrate it with everyone else.
Am I glad the baby's not aborted? Yes. Do I feel we should glorify illegitimacy because it's a superior alternative? No.
We should uphold and celebrate that which is good, and not that which is less bad.

I think you are right.Just needed to get a witness.

Why should any woman "expect any help" from me when she has a baby?
Used to be that's why she had a husband. Well, that and to get the baby in the first place.

I think he will be fine and comes from a strong family with decent values.
What decent values would those be? The ones that hold that it's okay to father a child out of wedlock?

Getting married does nothing to help this situation. It does not make the child legitimate. It just adds another mistake to the one they already made. Marriages like this rarely work, and growing up with two divorced parents isn't any better than growing up with two that didn't get married. Sometimes its worse.
I don't suggest glorifying illegitimacy. They have made their mistake and they are trying to take responsibility for it. They know what they did, and so does the whole US. How does shaming them add any benefit to this situation?

hmm, I dont think so.
Wouldnt that be in the stories?
To: ga medic
Because it might make another woman think twice before exposing herself to the kind of censure and scorn I advocate.

His post game title game comments sealed it for me- the kid has a lot to learn. Too bad the media has put him such a high pedestal. I also question the morality of any man who dates (and sleeps with) Paris Hilton.

I'm pretty sure he was USC...

First of all, it takes a woman and a man to make a baby. Why do you think that only the woman should think twice?
I don't know where you live or how much contact you have with high school age/college age kids, but reality tells me that the Scarlet Letter days are gone for good. If fear of AIDS and other STDs does not prevent pre-marital sex, why do you think that scorn and shame will have any effect? They made a mistake. I would bet that a vast majority of the kids their age have made the same mistake. They are taking responsibility, and they didn't have an abortion. Those are good things. The rest is a private matter between them and God.
Good luck with that scarlet letter thing.
To: MikefromOhio
Yeah, this is the same girl. I didn't realize they had broken up.
To: Dog Gone; BurbankKarl
Yeah, this is the same girl. I didn't realize they had broken up.
There we go. I wonder if they will get back together now.
