BRIDGEPORT, Conn. --A Fairfield lawyer has been charged with stabbing his neighbor to death after learning the man had molested his 2-year-old daughter, police said.
Fairfield authorities said attorney Jonathon Edington leaped through 58-year-old Barry James' bedroom window Monday and stabbed him nearly a dozen times in the chest. Edington, 29, was arraigned on murder and burglary charges Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court. He was held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 12.

Most of us have said it. "Anyone touches my child and I'd kill them".
More details will help. But, yes. "I'd kill him" has crossed my mind in contemplating how I would react if someone hurt my sons.
Powder..patch..Ball FIRE!
Put me on the jury...
And then I think, if the evidence is there that the now-dead guy did in fact murder the lawyer's daughter . . . there is no way in h3ll I could convict him of murder.
If anything, as a lawyer, he did something good -- taking scum off the streets, and he should be lauded (again IF the proof exists of molestation).
But his poor little girl :( No matter how you look at it, she suffered, and will continue to do so with daddy in jail.
gah said murder instead of molest -- if the dead guy MOLESTED the lawyer's daughter and proof positive exists etc etc . . .it's 5:23 in the morning and I'm not reading so well *laugh*
I'll sit right next to you. I figure it would only take around 2 minutes.
Prayers for the poor man and his child.
He's retained a high octane attorney in Mickey Sherman, that's for sure.
Interesting that they also charged him with burglary.
< Interesting that they also charged him with burglary. >
Either piling it on or a lesser charge to get him on.
Amen.
Clearly a case for a "Temporary Insanity" defense...
I see nothing wrong with the fathers actions.
It looks like he did not fail at everything...
I thought it said "FAILED" attorney!!!!
OK, no more till coffee!!!!
He did society a favor. The man will never molest another child. Put me on the jury too.
NO!! That would get him sent to a looney bin. I think he's perfectly sane for what he did. It's Justifiable Homocide, but I hope a jury says not guilty to any charges.
It's not justifiable homicide, he went out and hunted the guy down. The least he could expect is manslaughter.
Why does that not make it justifiable?
It may be premeditated, but still justifiable.
I'm glad you explained that because I was scratching my head on your using the word failed and thinking about getting more coffee myself because I missed something while reading the story twice. LOL
Reminds me of the Grandfather of a boy who was molested in the class of a perverted Karate instructor..... while the latter was being led out of a courtroom by court officers....the Granddad who was pretending to be talking on a pay phone wheeled around as they passed and capped the perp and ended it in a correct manner......
Bravo to this particular lawyer and I hope all lawyers learn a lesson from this about morality and true justice.
