Question. Is it possible to search Free republic archives on post date? I know you can search for keywords, listing in post date, but can you search and get everything actually posted on a particular date?
When you go to google look for the "advanced search" feature, that's what kingu is refering to.
You'll have more success and an unfiltered response if you do an exact phrase search of "On 08/30/2005" with Yahoo! for site:freerepublic.com .
There is another way:
Click here on "show more results" at the bottom of the browse latest articles page on freerepublic:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/browse?ao=1;more=1692122
See the number at the end of the line? Change it (take a wild guess).
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/browse?ao=1;more=1444444
Now work from there to find the date you want.
Bookmark a good Q & A thread.
Thanks so much for the tip to use yahoo and the post numbers. I've been meaning for some time now to review the posts on 09/11/2001.
Wow!
There are hundreds of threads that day with hundreds of replies. I even found a thread by the infamous A+Bert.
Somehow FReepers managed to sort out and sift through the truth from the rumors that day.
I recommend everyone visit Free Republic posts on 9/11. Start at post # 520000.
