IT'S DEBATE NIGHT GALLAGHER V. CRIST FL GUV PRIMARYAUG 28 AT 8 PM EST NBC STATIONS STATEWIDE
FLORIDA GOVERNOR'S RACE STATEWIDE TV DEBATE NBC STATIONS | August 28, 2006 | Floriduh Voter

Posted on 08/28/2006 1:40:44 PM PDT by floriduh voter

Friends, lurkers and media,

The debate between Tom Gallagher and Charlie Crist vying to be the Republican Primary winner to become Florida's next governor is MUST SEE TV and is on NBC statewide tonight, August 28th at 8:oo pm est.

Watch and listen carefully.

1. Which candidate actually answers the questions. 2. What is the degree of difficulty of the questions? 3. Who acts like a grownup? 3. Who's the biggest namedropper on the stage? 4. Who makes promises to do fab things with your hard earned money that you'll never see again? 5. Who do you trust during times of crisis such as hurricanes or regarding issues of securing our borders and illegal immigration? 6. Who has the sniffles? (that's an inside joke from last week's debate).

Tom Gallagher WILL WIN TONIGHT'S DEBATE!

Go, Gallagher!

Please return here about 8:00 pm. Post away! (My office tv is broken so I won't be transcribing tonight's action. I'll be back later.)

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT. One more reason why FV is for Tom Gallagher.

PLEASE GET THIS IN WIDE DISTRIBUTION! I don't care where or who or how. This is scary stuff and it's straight from Crist's teacher union mindset and in his plan.

CHARLIE CRIST WANTS TO REDISTRIBUTE YOUR WEALTH...

ATTENTION FLORIDA VOTERS: Better think twice if you're for Charlie Crist. He plans a separate bureaucracy for teachers.

Crist "I will also work to provide school districts with matching grants to provide teachers with signing bonuses, housing and down payment assistance, training and professional development, and the repayment of student loans." St. Pete Times 8-28-06 Page 3E.

A NEW BUREAUCRACY for teachers including repayment of student loans??? Housing and down payment assistance? Can he do that? Can he give preferential treatment to one particular segment of the population? That's his plan.

Join Tom Gallagher now and avoid setting up outrageous new entitlements for union members. The taxpayers are supposed to bankroll his promises to unions????? No thanks! It's not about teachers, it's about unions. Charlie Crist is a big power grab for unions.

TOM GALLAGHER FOR GOVERNOR

NBC NEWS PING. Since this is a statewide event on NBC news, it is sourced news. The event is being held at NBC in West Palm Beach, Florida.

If NBC does add a podcast or a transcript after the broadcast, we'll provide the link for same on this thread.

Please ping your lists if you have one. Thanks, FV

The title of this debate (seen by 100's [crickets chirping]....) should be "Which of these Losers Will do the Least Damage?"

“Here in Florida, as badly as we’ve been shafted by the insurance industry, I’m extremely skeptical of anyone taking that money,” said Ken Berry, a Merritt Island voter whose home premium jumped sixfold to $6,000, so high he can’t afford to buy it. Many of his neighbors, faced with the same financial crunch, are leaving.

“The ‘For Sale’ signs are going up all over my neighborhood,” Berry said, a fact he blames on politicians who “owe their allegiance, instead of to the people they’re representing, they owe it to big business.”

While the Republican Party of Florida collected $3.5 million from insurance companies and their executives, no candidate pulled in industry checks like Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher.

The former state insurance regulator’s run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination got a big initial kick from insurance interests. That sector’s contributions so far to Gallagher and a political committee set up to support him: $780,000.
Gallagher, whose honorary finance chairman, Tom Petway, runs an insurance company, said his public role is as consumer advocate.--news-press.com Tallahassee Bureau

lol. I heard a radio replay and the sniffling occurred while Tom Gallagher was speaking so it wasn't Mr. Gallagher.

I'm not in line with the teacher's union, but it is hard for a teacher to make ends meet on the current Florida wages.
They should make more money.
I'm voting for Crist.

Gallagher is such a CRACK WHORE when it comes to BIG INSURANCE he makes the MAYFLOWER MADAM look chaste.

Charlie Crist is such an OUTRAGEOUS LIAR (Ronald Reagan Republican my ass) he makes BAGHDAD BOB look credible and GOEBBELS look like an amateur.

Davis will be the next Governor of FL and Nelson will win re-election hendily, testimony to the disgusting and incompetent leadership of the Fl. state GOP.

Come on, they couldn't find anybody that could win out of all the people in the State?

Both sides: If you want to discuss the debate, have at it but let's not have a climate of flaming fellow freepers.

It won't help undecideds to go either way if they think that freepers don't have any manners. FV

So people who have real jobs like the insurance industry are ineligible from the political process. The amount of money Gallagher's got from insurance is peanuts compared to what Crist has taken from the gambling and development industry. I guess you want to risk having the next Jim McGreevy as Governor for Florida.

Starting teachers in Hillsborough County make over 36,000 for ten months work. How is it hard to make those ends meet? It is totally possible if they would just teach an arcane concept called the "budget." In any event, Gallagher is for raising teacher pay.

I'm not a troll, I'm a Republican from Citrus county, I belong to the East Citrus Republican club, I'll give you my phone number in private if you want to confirm.
I've met Crist and Gallagher, they spoke to our club several weeks ago.
I like Crist's offerings a little more, Gallagher isn't bad either, I found it nice to have a tough choice, actually.

Its a done deal that Davis will win the General and its the state GOP's fault for running two giant turkeys.

Peoples insurance rates are skyrocketing because Gallagher and his pals refused to do anything about the insurance companies outrageous business practices and modeling when he was insurance commissioner.

Were he to win the primary, which he won't, Davis would stomp him in the general over this issue.

If Gallagher wasn't such a whore he would be embarassed to show his face in public, much less run for Governor.
