BREAKING NEWS: Flight diverted to Tri-Cities airport following bomb threat
U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia to Houston has been diverted to the Tri-Cities Regional Airport after authorities said a bomb threat involving the flight was made.
About 50 to 60 people aboard the flight currently are being evacuated, according to airport officials. Flight #3441 was being operated by Republic Airways.
I hope while the plane is searched they have the passengers fill out written questionaires/statements. Then do some handwriting analysis.
In the Tri-State area, near the beltway, down by the five point intersection, right where the old Esso station used to be...
Bristol, Johnson City, and Kingsport Tennessee. They are in the extreme NE corner of TN just under Virginia and East of North Carolina.
Far upper Eastern Tennessee, between Bristol, JOhnson City, and Kingsport, near the North Carolina border and SW Virginia and Kentucky. The airport is just seven miles from my home, as the crow flies ... light show watching planes coming and going in the evenings but far enough away to not be a nuisance. We're in the area where the two 'Israelis' were apprehended a few months back, near the nuclear fuels reprocessing plant.
As a high school teacher I can tell you bomb threats are a regular part of school days when there's a tough test. It used to be a problem. You know what has largely stopped it? Caller ID.
You never know though. Sasha sent this to me this morning. See post 87.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1690033/posts
Upper East Tennessee - Bristol/Kingsport/Johnson City. The airport is actually located in Blountville which is situated in the middle of the triangle circumscribed by a line connecting the three cites.
Guess where I grew up?
Israelis?
The story placed n the media was that the two were carrying Israeli passports. They tried to outrun the law and prevent capture after being spotted weaving on the back road in the mountains and throwing somehting from the car. Once the initial story was placed in the media, nothing else was ever reported about them. A friend with the Sheriff's dept. told me that they were not Israelis but they were ME types and got a free trip to a resort in Cuba. I can't confirm that however.
Probably not legal now but a hospital that I used to work at had a policy on bomb threats that no staff were to leave and that we all had to go around our work areas and check if anything was out of place. We never had any threats.
That's my hood. See if I can get anything.
I'm in Johnson City, are you still in the area??
Hmmmm, interesting. I'll bet they were Palestinian Israeli Arabs. Wandering around in those mountain back roads, they would stick out like a sore thumb!
If they were up to no good, I hope they did get that free ticket to Gitmo.
Yup. Unaka Ave.
I wondered what happened to them! During that time, there were a few other cases of "israeli's" in Uhauls who were stopped and detained in other areas. I really hope they are enjoying their trip at the resort : ) not!
Representing E. 8TH!! heehee
What I think is that we are getting a bunch of dry runs going on to expose our response tactics.
Right. Did you call his wife?
I wonder if comeone was on a cell phone to the boss and told he was needed in Tennessee instead...
