Sweet smokin' Jesus some people love their Bible! Seventy-five percent?! Then you look at Vermont and you think to yourself: what in God's green earth do have in common with those fruities up in New England? Dennis Prager's theory is that a conservative is someone who believes that the Bible is of divine origin while a liberal believes, well, that basically the Bible is a whole lot of things but it's all got nothin' to do with God (or is it god?).

Based on how folks live their lives, I SERIOUSLY doubt anywhere near 50% of americans believe the Bible is literally true.

Dennis Prager needs to get out more.

79% of women and 69% of men identify themselves as true believers [in Arkansas].

Interesting. I wonder what the national figures (for men/women) are?

Well, Vermont does have the best CCW laws in the country.

To a progressive socialist(liberal doesn't do them justice), ALL pages of the Bible are BLANK.

Well Dennis is ignorant, at least on this topic. A quick spin through the evolution threads will make it abundantly clear that there are many conservatives who do not take the Bible as being literally true and there are even some of us who view it as little more than an influential and interesting piece of history.

I testified for the veracity of the Bible before I testified against it.

The churches here in MA can be very leftist.

I'd much prefer to be friendly with New England atheists or bible belt Christians, but neither the reverse if you switched those states around.

In Arkansas, however, percentages [of those agreeing with the Bible's authenticity] are actually higher for younger voters.

Bad news for the dems - now AND in the future. Wait. . . isn't Clintoon from Arkansas?

In Vermont and Massachusetts, only 22% of those respondents believe the Bible is literally true—the lowest percentages in all states surveyed.

And that's where all the homo's live.
