#214, You are right, but his ego will not let him do that. The only reason that he is still allowed on that worthless show is because he is guaranteed to say something rotten about the Bush Administration and Pubbies. He has Prostituted himself for years, and knows what he has to do for face time. I think that some of these old goats need to do what Elephants do when they are over the hill, find a nice out of the way place to assume room temperature quietly. The average non Prostitute Pubbie Writer or Journalist,Talking head will move on to retirement and lead a normal life for a change, and stay out of the Limelight. If those old goats just cannot stand being away from the limelight, they could just have videos made of all their appearances, and watch them until they go off the deep end. Since they love to watch themselves, that would not take long. Those videos could be used as a serious form of cruel, mental torture.
Last week the Justice Department decided not to criminally prosecute the Fannie Mae Board or the Franklin Raines executive group for these flagrant frauds on shareholders and the de facto federal subsidy which Fannie Mae is accorded in the financial markets. This bizarre decision which even now protects Clinton appointees is a total sham and a major stain on the Gonsales led DoJ.
By the way, Raines was frequently mentioned as a potential Treasury Secretary in a Gore administration.
From one vet to another!
"This is why I love this thread we can respectfully disagree with each other."
JMHO, but I've always figured that the people who have to bash their way through a discussion don't have the facts to back up their position, the brains to come up with counterpoints or the integrity to admit any of the above.....

The Sunday Morning Talk Shows - review
starring Joe Biden or Mary Landrieu
By Mark Kilmer
On MTP, Hizzoner Ray Nagin explained that he was just comparing sites which took time to develop. When he said "hole in the ground," he meant: "an undeveloped site as yet." FEMA Director David Paulison explained that his agency has no control of money it gives to victims after it has been given; Russert complained that victims were spending targeted relief money on soda pop and condoms.
On TW, Brownie said that it was all Chertoff's fault and that his disaster consulting business was doing so well because he knows what works and what doesn't. Mary Landrieu walked around New Orleans and neither cried nor threatened to assault the President of the United States. Gulf Coast Rebuilding coordinator Don Powell said that money had been allocated for Katrina relief, but that they were waiting for the bills.
On FNS, Joe Biden told Wallace that while he was sure that General Abizaid, who said last week that Iraq was "nowhere near" a civil war, had a pretty good idea how things were going in Iraq, Generals Casey and Chiarelli had told him that we're all going to die. Biden said that he does not want to partition Iraq; rather, he said, he wants the Iraqi provinces to have the same rights and powers as does South Carolina.
On FTN, Bob Schieffer talked to Harry Smith in New Orleans, and Smith said that no one trusted the government and was on their own. Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour then explained how, unlike what Harry had opined, it was not a per se economic class issue. Some wealthy homes by the beach were not able to rebuild while less well off neighborhoods a few blocks inlands were rebuilding apace. FEMA director Paulison addressed Smith's snideness by saying that everyone should be responsible for themselves, but that FEMA was prepared to help.
On LE, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's translator was speaking into a tube, but the prime minister seemed to indicate that the Iraqis should be ready to take care of their own security within the next year.
Also of note, and not mentioned in the show-by-show review below, is that CBS News' Harry Smith told FTN host Schieffer that a woman in St. Barnard's Parish in New Orleans cried for 45 minutes about her home which had been damaged by an oil slick. They wouldn't be able to build. Standing in the parish with George Stephanopoulos last week in a tape show on TW, Senator Mary Landrieu boasted about how St. Bernard's Parish was the greatest example of the rebuilding effort. She spoke in glowing terms.
Mary Landrieu last year sat that the President was "out of touch." Go figure. (She says that the Bushies are still out of touch. Gulf Coast Rebuilding coordinator Don Powell displayed that this was a fraudulent supposition on FOX News Sunday this morning. Landrieu's mind is lost on the Moon, and there is a slight pun there.)

Sound interesting but still like the banana.
Oh those were my college republican days
Time after time we hear of former Clintonistas getting a pass. I have yet to figure it all out. What is going on?
#218 Nagin seems to know what he can get away with and he plays the Media like a drum. He is a player that is for sure, and GWB knows he is a Con Man Player, but he has to deal with him,and since they both have an Enemy in Blanco, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Nagin wants that money bad,and makes no bones about it. He thinks that his City will be back up in Population (double it's present Population)to Pre Katrina Numbers in 5 years. He is obviously full of beans, but that is far enough down the road so he can get away with saying it and nobody will question him.
He said that whichever Congresscritters that have tried to put a halt to Bush's missile sheild program better "stop that"....pretty blunt.
Slow Joe Biden was the leader of this group. That is one of the problems for the usual collections of Washington insiders when they want to run for President. There are miles and miles and miles of tape of them saying really dumb stuff for their foes to use against them
Just listened to Biden on FNSunday. I never ever heard anyone who can lie and spin as good as Sen plugs. He has an answer for everything and if anybody calls him on anything like Wallce did about sectioning off the country he simply denies it(he's running for VP methinks) and says he never said it. Wow can this guy ever lie.
Good...hopefully, Fox will be looking for any and all video of Biden speaking against these defensive weapons systems!!
#219, I am not so sure about Juan Williams. Juan is trying to sell a book, and make the Black Leadership take responsibility in the same vein as Bill Cosby. However judging by the stupid defense of the Hezzies today, and the fact that Brit was overcome with emotion today and did not bitch slap him lets him be really left wing not crazy on another topic. He sounded good on with Walter Williams, but his mantra about how can you expect the Hezzies to turn around on a dime after the Israeli's left Gaza, and occupied areas is really bizarre and ignorant. They (Israel)left several months ago,and the attacks have yet to stop. Juan needs to quit listening to NPR. You will get my drift when you watch the repeat at 6PM. He repeated the mantra three times that I Counted.
Newest update per Fox, there's a mandatory visitors evacuation of the Keys (they didn't say all or part).
My bet is that Ernesto continues to curl around the tip of Haiti and heads back out into the Atlantic. Plus, I bet the upper level winds sheer off the top and it goes down to tropical depression in short order. (I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope)
To me, it's his pushing of campaign finance reform and his gang of 13. However, I won't vote for a democrat in the general election, even if McCain is the GOP nominee, I'll have to stick with him.
Let's all agree in the primaires that McCain is NOT the one.
Very good point, Miss Marple! The DBM is the enemy of us all.
Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
There will be evacs starting before long for us as well. They start with the lower keys than the middle and then us. My buddy from Miami is in charge of all that. I wanna see what and where the storm is after it crosses Cuba. It's real hard to predict these things when mountains are involved.
