Possible plane crash in Lexington, KY. My brother works security for Lexington UK Hospital and was just called in. No news locally or on major news outlets yet. I didn't want to post anything for fear of being wrong, but he's still waiting for an official call while on stand-by.
Update from WTVQ 36 Lexington:
A plane has crashed near the Blue Grass Airport this morning. No word on details at this time. We are told it was a commercial aircraft. Versailles Road is blocked as emergency vehicles circle around the site. We have live coverage beginning at 7:20am. Stay with Action News 36 for more details.
Wow! It's a wonder that airline travel is so safe with all those problems! How do they do it?
Just saw the pic on FOX, built like a BAC-111 but smaller, like an oversized lear jet, I forgot who makes them
FAA No known survivers.

It seems odd that the attack would occur within a mile of the airport, though. One would think a potential terrorist would wait until the jet reached altitude before triggering their device.
In my mind, the fact that the crash occurred at takeoff - and this aircraft type has a bad record - makes it much more likely to be an accident.
I work on GG-4's and FT-8's now, and the story I hear from the guys on the flight side, or former flight side, they use parts from local hardware stores commonly.
You've already stepped on your wanger, son, now you want to tell the world how much you know about the wild blue.

Hospital confirmation suggests 2 survivors. Captain in serious condition and 1 other victim in unknown condition.
I dont want to start rumors, but anywhere further away from a small airport would have fewer people witnessing the crash...or missile shot at the plane??
But, I doubt this is terror, the plane is too small to be a high value target.
"It appears to be Flight 5191."
Looks like it could be....

I'm not a pilot, but with those conditions, I'll speculate they would be taking off southward.
..If you wanna win every hand....
...stack the deck in your own favor!
Took him seriously... did so... every leg... every day...
One is not a high value target. 5-6 of these planes can be.
I believe they this airplane was first made by Bombardier (sp) and then they were bought out.
Yup.... sad-but-true...
I hadn't really considered that (was thinking more about an onboard explosive), but good point.
Plane Crashes At Blue Grass Airport; Up To 50 Aboard
The FAA is reporting that an Atlanta-bound Comair jet with up to 50 people on board has crashed on takeoff at Blue Grass Airport.
Details are still very sketchy, but it appears that the plane crashed just after 6 a.m. into a field on the airport property. An eyewitness told LEX 18 that he heard a large boom, then saw a bright flash of light.
There is no word on casualties thus far.
Stay tuned to LEX 18 for the latest information on this developing situation.
A lightning bolt would be:
Flash of light. Then.
Loud boom.
Not the other way around.
