Please use common sense when posting graphics--keeping in mind there are FReepers who use dial-up access to the internet, and many have java limitations (e.g. satellite loops). In other words--links are better than posting the graphics.

And I'd also like to add that these threads are no place for snarkfests, either, like what happened on the last one. At the end of the day, no one knows for sure where this storm will be three days from now or just how strong it will be then.
Bring in facts and opinions and present them just as that.

Hiya buickmackane!
Saw your post immediately after I requested the last thread to be locked. Glad to hear you are settled into your new digs. Another conservative voice in Liberal Land is a good thing! Now...if we can just find a way for bad weather to stop following you...

Well, this is a big change from the track I saw last Friday. Yuck.
Not taking any chance this time, either. Time to fill the propane and gas tanks, then do an inventory on supplies. We're loaded from collecting over the year from the last hurricane. We could go another 10-14 at short notice if need be, longer if it's bad.
*sigh* I'd rather be planning on the beer for the next football game, but this is the price we pay to live in Paradise.
On a sadder note, we can pretty much abandon any hope that insurance rates will stabelize anytime soon.

Check-out the latest wave analysis for the mid-Atlantic on Swellinfo.com. The Eastern Atlantic has been like a lake all summer. Looks like labor day weekend could be epic. I'm stoked!

Why to go Ernesto, I knew you could do it. Now slap Castro around a bit and go to East Texas.

This morning, it looks like Ernesto has been interacting with yet another Upper Level Low to the northeast, and has dragged him more north, and disrupted his structure,in the last few hours. That interaction seems to have ended now, and should start to again organize a bit, and resume a more westerly track. Or...I could be completely wrong.

Ernesto upgraded to hurricane statusExcerpt:
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) Ernesto became the first hurricane of the Atlantic season Sunday with winds of 75 mph, and forecasters said it would strengthen as it headed toward the Gulf of Mexico, where it could menace a wide swath of coastline including New Orleans.

Why isn't this in breaking news...it is now a threat to the United States. I had to do a search just to find the topic.

Nice job once again NN. Your threads are great for keeping up with these storms. I love the animated 3 and 5 day tracks, they really give you a good idea of how the storm is behaving. Not that they can't change.
