For several reasons, not the least of which is because nobody in Gaza seem to know anything at all about the group that kidnapped these poor men; not even the worst of Hamas.
The kidnappers are probably NOT Palestinians at all, but Iraqis or Iranians or some al Qaeda offshoot.

I really hate to say this. I've been worried sick about Steve and Olaf, but they just sold their souls to the devil. I couldn't do it. Saw my head of with a butter knife but I'll never forsake my God. I'm glad they are safe though. I'm sure their families are relievedPlease don't say such things. Do not judge them by what they might say with a possible gun to their heads! But, I'm sure they mean it....I'm sure they have accepted Islam. I'm just sure of it and now their captors will release them. Surely they will. (stick with me on this, okee dokee?)

I could pretty much care a less what they say at the point of a gun. Any reasonable person knows what's going on here. It is the idiot kidnappers that think what they're doing has any point other than simply being sadistic. I'm hoping this is a good sign and that they will now be released. It might be a means for the kidnappers to 'save face', since their demands haven't been met and hopefully not kill Centanni and Wiig.

Personally, I wouldn't have allowed myself to be kidnapped in the first place. I'd lose my head and go rabid and take a bullet instead.One never knows how one will react in a "nano-second". It's easy to say such things when one doesn't have to deal with the reality of a sudden abduction.

Agreed and I have been praying for them; but, nobody, kidnapped in this area, has EVER been kept this long...let alone forced to make such a tape.

They're playing to their brethren and I'm afraid they won't want to be embarrassed by the new converts' statements once or if they're released. It seems that, in many instances, even their own fellow terrorists are saying this kidnapping was unjustified. If they harm Steve and Olaf physically, they might fear getting some crap from their friends. I know that sounds crazy, but there may be (hopefully) some truth to it. And I'll bet word spreads fast among their own.

It's a different situation now. They believe Hammas has defeated Israel, therefore giving them much more power and influence.
I expect kidnapping of westerners in that area now will increase and become more violent. Especially since Israel gave into Hammas, the UN (as always) came out of the side of terrorism and the Israeli soldiers kidnapping which began the entire war, are still captives.
These barbarians have been giving nothing more then pure ammunition.
