Posted on 08/25/2006 5:03:55 PM PDT by Jon Alvarez

When the conservative position needs advocacy in Central New York, Jon Alvarez is there. When a local issue in Baldwinsville needs grassroots action, Alvarez takes charge. When outspoken liberals need to be taken down a couple of notches, Alvarez does his best.

author's note: This story is about Jon Alvarez. People should care because Alvarez is a public face of the conservative movement and conservative politics in Onondaga County. The theme of this article is the lengths to which Alvarez will go to live up to his ideals.

I enjoyed reading your interview. However I take offense at the "They’re spending like drunken soldiers," comment. I'm sure sailors everywhere will appreciate your perception.

Oh, one more suggestion. When you said “The only office I would want is dictator" you should prefix the word dictator with "a benevolent". People like that.

I hope you got into visit Dinosaurs while you were in Syracuse.

No offense, but I never could quite stomach someone who talks about himself in the third-person. :-)

Those were Bob Ward's words, not Jon's.

Bob Dole says Bob Dole doesn't like you.

Thanks Gina! This is such a great place to live, isn't it? We just need to fix this broken political system...I've spoken with so many frustrated people, particularly retirees, as their property taxes skyrocket as do their assessments. All the while, our politicians try to figure where to spend all that tax money and are left scratching their heads wondering why businesses won't relocate here and citizens flee south. Go figure...

All I need is 4 years and I'll fix this country. ;)

Jon Alvarez doesn't take offense...Jon Alvarez seems to remember that another famous Texan used to speak about himself in the 3rd person, Sam Houston. He's one of Jon Alvarez's favorite Americans.
