Chavez says Israel's action in Lebanon "worse" than Hitler

Visiting Venezuela President Hugo Chavez has denounced Israel's recent attacks on Lebanon as "genocide," likening its action to war crimes committed by Germany's Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

"Israel often criticizes Hitler ... but they have done the same thing, perhaps even worse," Chavez told reporters Friday in a briefing during his six-day visit to China.

Denouncing the "fascist attitudes" of Israel, he said: "What has happened was a genocide. They must be brought in front of an international tribunal."

"Nobody should stay muted," he said.

The 34-day conflict in the Middle East came to an end on August 14 after a UN-brokered agreement for a cessation of hostilities in line with Security Council Resolution 1701.

Chavez said the resolution came late, but expressed his country's support for the United Nations.

Caracas pulled the Venezuelan charge d'affaires out of Israel in early August to protest its operations inside Lebanon, with Chavez charging that Israel "had lost its mind".

It's obvious that Chavez wants some of Iran's nukes and he'll say anything to win them over. What a nut.

Proves you don't have to be good at math to be a Venezuelan dictator.

Chavez does not know what the word "fascist" means, which shows how ignorant he is.

Hugo, the Hitler references are getting mighty tired. I know you're too busy stuffing your fat face full of fattening foods judging by your enormous ass and too busy stuffing your nose up Castro's rectum to come up with anything more original or compelling, but just give a couple second's thought maybe to a different way of expressing yourself.

Hugo Chavez has lost his mind. Hezbollah is still standing and a feckless Israeli government is frittering away through its ineptness, even the the new fig leaf "achievements" of 1701 it has touted to stay in power. All of which will turn out to be futile. As Haaretz columnist Avi Shavit put it sarcastically, Israeli soldiers died for the privilege of being defended by France. Israel is guilty if anything, not of genocide but rather - in failing to decisively eliminate the Hezbollah danger.

( No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo!)

Man, if there are so many leaders who are supposedly "worse than Hitler" or "as bad as Hitler", then I guess Hitler wasn't that exceptional in his evil after all. (sarcasm)

What an absolute clown. The fact that he is well respected by many in his country and in latin America doesn't speak well about the intelligence of people in those countries.

Being Iran sent all the stuff and they had and have lots in common with Nazis in the past and present, why is Chavez complaining at all?

Israel is fighting Nazis and Hitlers literally.

Obviously Chavez makes the Hitler reference to get in the face of Jews. Otherwise, there's nothing newsworthy about his statement except as another entry in "Hugo Chavez's Words of Idiocy."

I've often wondered who would be referenced if Hitler had never existed. Gee, there must be some other figure in history who could be referenced too. How about,

"The Israelis are as bad as Mao, perhaps even worse."

Of course, Hugocito's hosts probably would have been none too happy with that.

Chavez just the other day also said that there was a lot to learn from socialism Chinese-style... This guy is certifiable, IMHO.

I'm thinking this idiot just says things to be noticed these days. He says things that are wild and outrageous. He reminds me of a child who is not getting enough attention so he does things that are bad just to get mommy and daddy to look at him.
