Stabenow (D) 51%, Bouchard (R) 42%
Hilarious. My wife works at a nursery/garden/landscaping business and can't stand her as well. I thought it was her post so I had to ask her.
My dog does not have a collar.
Lincoln Chafee, Debbie Stabenow and Patrick Leahy, issued strong statements calling for an immediate ceasefire. Senators Dick Durbin and John E. Sununu sponsored a resolution urging the administration to grant "temporary protected status" to Lebanese citizens in the US and the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, a new resolution on Lebanon, correcting its previous one-sided effort.
This new resolution was sponsored by Senator Chris Dodd and co-sponsored by Senators Sununu, Chafee, Stabenow, Carl Levin, Ted Kennedy and Russ Feingold.

"Michigan Republicans should forget Stabenow and focus like a laser on dumping Granholm."
Michigan is very red in most of the state (like California), and much of the blue is composed of Reagan dems. Outside of the union - NAACP - university coalition there is not much support for Stabenow.
Granholm ran as a moderate, and generally she still is. Unfortunately she's not done much with the (admittedly awful) hand she's been dealt. If she finds her charisma again it won't be a close fight. Then again, she lost the charisma 3 years ago....
The other 2% are Democrats who don't know which candidate is the Dem and so said undecided.
I would also like to add that as a former union member I wouldn't be so sure that union members blindly vote democrat. I never did and few of my friends who are still union members do. I suspect that may be different among Detroit area union members.
That's ridiculous.
And a sweep would mean 60 in the senate. It is a long shot, but who knows.
Ah yes ... "like California." I'm certainly not looking for Feinstein to lose this year, either.
The Reagan Dems weren't able to deliver the state for Bush, and they won't deliver it for Bouchard this year.
There aren't enough of them, or they aren't Republican enough.
I would bet against DeVos, too. But he has a chance because people actually give a moment of thought to a gubernatorial race, especially when the economy is bad.
I'm aware that Michigan is a two-party state. Just saying that the Republicans aren't in especially good shape in statewide races, due mainly to 70 years of union propaganda. Partisanship is most powerful in Senate races, and the state's Rat majority, plus incumbency, plus a bad national climate for Republicans make it impossible to beat Stabenow this year.
In terms of the Senate, any money going to Bouchard should go to Jim Talent, Mike DeWine and Rick Santorum instead.
(I know DeWine sucks, but we need his vote.)
Exactly.
Yes, if ever there was class warfare it's here. Interesting to note the difference between Ann Arbor and Detroit. They're both equally leftist in the last two generations, but one (Detroit) is a by-product of the other's thinking ala (Ann Arbor).
Those ankles are obscene!
I'm in much more conservative Jackson county which is kind of an oddball county. We used to be a manufacturing powerhouse with Goodyear, Yardman, Clark Equipment etc. Now our manufacturing base has almost entirely collapsed leaving welfare and low paying retail jobs but we still seem to hold the conservative values.
Troubling that she shows as over 50%, even by a little. If that is correct, Bouchard can win every remaining undecided voter and still lose.
Makes Mary Landrieu look downright skinny.
That's nonsense. If DeWine is a loser, than how can his vote be counted on in the first place? Why give the a$$clown any money to an electorate that's wishy-washy? You totally are missing the point. Who cares about Lieberman for example. You've got a state here that is ready, willing, and able to toss out blue scum in a 2nd term presidential lame duck scenario including the gubner, maybe a senator, and already one RINO congressman (Schwarz) that has been tossed out in the primary.
