Poland protests against German navy violating its waters
24.08.2006
The Polish foreign ministry has sent a protest letter to Berlin in connection with the violation of Polands territorial waters by the German navy.
The ministry press spokesman Andrzej Sados offered no comment until the matter is cleared up. He pointed out, however, that Poland was not informed about exercises organized by the German navy.
On August 16, German naval vessels involved interfered with the movements of passenger ships heading for the north-western Polish sea port of Swinoujscie.

Many say the world today reminds them of 1939. This though is odd. Do friendly countries normally complain about these things?

There is plenty of them: twice "i", "o", "u", "e" :-)))
Don't complain.
Try "Szczebrzeszyn".
Or "Swarzedz" :-)))

All of these countries' navies will ultimately fall under the bold blue EU flag, and then such territorial violations will be technically impossible...

OH OH! Remember the last time GErmany violated Polish waters.
(Bombardment of the Westerplatte) by Klaus Bergen, 1940. (These were the first shots of World War II, when the battleship "Schleswig-Holstein" opened fire on Polish military positions at the Westerplatte peninsula, Danzig, at 4:47 a.m. on September 1, 1939.)

That's not too far from Szczecin, if I'm not mistaken! If you were going from Przemysl or Rzeszow, you'd have to pass Bydgoszcz on the way.

One can bet that if the matter was reversed the mighty Germans would have already logged a major incident.
