When I was eight my (since dehippified) parents asked me if I wanted to go to a disarmament rally in Central Park.

I asked them what it was about and they told me it was to get America and the Soviet Union to give up their nukes.

I told my folks that if we gave up our nukes, the Soviet Union would just lie about giving up their nukes and nuke us anyway, so I told them I didn't want to go.

I apparently was never a liberal.

I hope many of us FReepers remember to get this message out of the story. These are children, and they deserve to be allowed to be children. In the days following 9/11, had you asked most children what they thought about it, they'd tell you that they wanted to know when cartoons would come back.

The last poll I saw over on DU shows over 70% of the moonbats believe Bush either made 9/11 happen on purpose or let others do it by doing nothing to stop it. That is, indeed, stunning.

And before anyone goes off on "well, he's just a kid, and he has a right to say what he wants", I'll point out that at this rate, he will grow up, barring an intervention, into the same type of frothing leftist that we deal with everyday, the enemy within that must be defeated POLITICALLY; also, of course the kid can say what he wants, perhaps someday he'll realize that it's because people fought wars (which he calls "dumb") so that he could have and keep the right to speak freely; and yes, he has the right to speak. I lived in Texas in November 1963. Several teachers and students were returning from seeing Kennedy in San Antonio that morning and were telling us about his visit. It was about 1pm in the afternoon. The intercom then broadcast the news, Kennedy had been shot in Dallas. Shock, uncertainness, and sadness crept over the room and teachers and students began to cry, especially as the reports started coming in as to the seriousness of the situation. School let out early and we went home to watch TV as the news came in. That night, PT 109 was on the base theater and it was packed. A ten year old, I was glued to the TV the next five days.
