The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.
President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.
"I'm going to the mattress for mayo.............hehe......"
I don't like mayo but I love your post re: the subject!
good 'un!
The only reason I've even heard of polenta is because I've had to watch the Food Network WAY too much since I've gotten home. Sometimes there's nothing else on and I like to have the noise, even if I'm on my computer and not watching. I've never actually eaten polenta though.
I agree. We still have him for 2 years and 5 months and we already get melancholy about him leaving the WH. ;*(
I use to be excited about Allen...part of the reason I moved to VA. Just can't get all that jazzed about him any more. He's no W, that's for sure.
Well, I've got to head out. Catch you all on Friday evening...8^)
Curry is one of my favourite eat out meals we have a nice but fairly ordinary Indian near me that Phil and I go do 5 or 6 times a year or get a take-away.
Mum used to curry the left over meat from Sunday roast which nan and I like but we used to have to leave just cold meat for dad because he does not eat curry :0).
YES! I finally was able to ask a friend and that's it. I don't know why I have such a hard time remembering their name.
Do you like them?
Actually, I don't want people to think about 2008 just yet. This election year is too important. If the Dems take over the House, we will be looking at 2 years of impeachment charges against GWB.
That would be too awful to contemplate.
Adios :)
Night - now I really am going :0)
That's what my mother did -- cooked a pot roast after church and it smelled up the house all afternoon. I have fond memories of that. But we hardly ever had any leftovers on Monday, with six people in the fam.
A lot of her cooking traditions came from the British emigrants' side of the family, I have discovered in my adult years.
That's why there's chocolate and vanilla .. ;)
You have mail.
I have made that argument many times. Congress is sneaky like that...set themselves up for life, while disenfranchising presidential voters. Or sumpin' like that.
FOUR MORE YEARS!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!!
Repeat as necessary!
Well, if you had used Miracle Whip :-) you'd have had our lunches for the week. And when we ran out of the Sunday ham or roast, we'd get bologna.
Do you think any kids today get the same treat? It still tastes better than fast food to me.
Definitely! I just hope that most Republicans won't decide they're gonna "teach the GOP a lesson." Our national security is way too important for that. Not to mention abortion, taxes, and Social Security. And, yes, the Democrats would start impeachment proceedings the first day. We really need to focus on this year. The stakes are high.
It depends on where one lives. I am allergic to the chemical they put in natural gas to make you know if it's leaking so I've been very glad that every home I've ever lived in uses an electric range, but you're right, gas heat is more controllable. Where I live, hydro-electric power is plentiful, as is natural gas, but the electric people seem to have cornered the market here first.
My friends, where I house sit, discovered their electric bill (heat, lights, oven, all power) was over $1,000 a month so the wife called the gas company, got facts and figures, went to all the neighbors, and got them to pay to have a natural gas line put in to their neighborhood. They pay a pittance for their heat now. Happily for me she kept her electric range.
I add a dollop of barbecue sauce to the baked beans. I know it isn't "authentic", but I do like the flavor.
Thank you for that post about white vinegar. I will do that.
