The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.
President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.

Thank you for the links!
I've sometimes worried about how President Bush can withstand the Washington snake pit and deal with a daily barrage of hate from the ignorant left that, in my opinion, dwarfs in both volume and injustice the abuse directed against any prior President.
Not to worry my friend, our President has an awesome God who comforts and watches over him.

MY Mom did something EVEN WEIRDer...are you ready? She gave us canned peas (cold) mixed with French dressing, as a vegetable for certain dinners.
Now THAT has to top all abnormal combos, for sure!

This is funny -- I was reading your post,
"... blog by John H. What they have ... "
And wondered for a moment who John H. What is.

Well, the Cam walker has got to be better than crutches or a wheelchair!
I'm sorry...I should have realized the school would handle living arrangements and the like. It is good not to have to worry about rent and that stuff when you are embarking on an internship. I am getting so excited for you!!! ;*)

Sounds like the worst spat we might ever have here is between the Miracle Whip and the mayo folks. :-)
Why would anyone eat mayo if they could get Miracle Whip?
To: speekinout
I hadn't heard of bologna being called ground up.
I just finished reading a book (The Scratch of a Pen), about the year 1763 and the North American continent, the aftermath of the Peace of Paris, 1763, that reshaped imperial claims in all of this continent, and one thing that stood out to me was a group of people who ended up getting isolated from the mainland of Canada and culturally very separate. I'm so glad we have the Internet (and radio, TV, etc.) to keep our country aware of its parts.

Let me tell you, ohio -- I WUZ ROBBED! I never even tasted a pizza till I was 13 years old and my best friend and I went to a local pizzaria next to one of the three theaters downtown after watching movies. The proprieter let us teens buy a slice instead of the whole pie, so we, of course, having very little cash, adored the man.

Definitely! It's gonna look a little weird with my clothes, I think, so I hope by the time I actually start my internship, I can get rid of the Cam walker too.
Yep, and the place we're staying in has a dining hall for breakfast and dinner so I don't have to buy food except for lunch. Yay! :)

I suppose ... on a hot (really hot) day ... that might be ... um ... refreshing.
It sounds like something you'd be served at a gourmet meal these days, though. Well, substituting fresh peas.

Oh, dear! No pizza??
I grew up in a very Italian Youngstown, and spaghetti and pizza were regular parts of my Swedish diet.
I'm glad you got your freedom at 13, though. :)
