Obviously this has profound spiritual implications for Christians, Griffin observes, having already concluded that Jesus Christ's primary goal on earth was to overturn the Roman Empire of His day. Unfortunately, Griffin opines, the early church, including some Gospel writers, covered up this truth, claiming that salvation was eternal rather than a political liberation. These revisionists persuaded Christians that the empire would "facilitate, not hinder, the coming of the kingdom of God." Christianity then went from being anti-empire to an imperial religion.

Neat trick.

Can I get a 'pope is the antichrist' from the congregation?

I guess the theory rests, in part, on the premise that Christians are morons. Everyone knew Jesus was a revolutionary but "some" writers (but not all?) covered it up and no one said, "Hey, wait a minute, that's not what happened".

The left still spews that story about George I flying to Paris on an SR-71. Never mind that the Blackbird is not specifically a stealth craft (it just flys high) and can be detected on air traffic radar.

I 'spose everyone has their beliefs though. This sounds like another of those stories that will be repeated as gospel by the left.

"Griffin's thesis is pretty straightforward: The events of 9/11 were a false flag operation undertaken by U.S. intelligence and police agencies at the behest of the Bush administration.

American examples of false flag operations, as outlined by Griffin, include provocations that led to the Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, the Philippines War, and the Vietnam War. More recently, Griffin tells us, the United States staged terrorist operations in Italy, Turkey and Belgium during the 1970s and 1980s to create a backlash against the left. So Griffin does not see the false flag attack of 9/11 as an aberration, a devious plan that only the Bush administration would devise."

The government pulled all this off without a single leak? Amazing, ain't it?

"I get very, very frustrated when I hear 'war for oil." = people who have no concept of how the world works and who are immature in their 40's, 50's and 60's. It is frustrating to talk to morons.

The laws of physics alone cannot explain why steel-reinforced towers would implode as a result of mere airplanes crashes, Griffin insists.

Let's see - exploding jet fuel, massive hot fires which soften steel support girders which in turn hold thousands of tons of steel and concrete and depend upon their rigidity to hold said materials, and this nut thinks this is not enough to start the collapse of the towers.

What an insufferable idiot.

It's even more frustrating when my 33-year-old daughter complains not to talk to her about politics. Like, when is Gen. X slated to take over, tomorrow?

As a scientist myself it makes me cringe when I hear these idiots talk. You hit the nail right on the head, the dynamic mechanical properties of a material change radically when heated. Your explanation is perfectly correct.

Hubs and I joined a United Methodist church around the 2004 election. Initially, I thought we'd be surrounded by conservatives and I suddenly found we are not.

Quoting our LCMS pastor at an late evening meeting with some Church members:

"I don't know how anyone can attend Church on Sunday, and vote for a democrat the following Tuesday."

Roman Catholic dissident feminist theologian Rosemary Radford Ruether.

If someone has publicly participated in pagan witchcraft ceremonies, can we finally stop describing them as a Roman Catholic?

Hubs says they want everything on demand. I suppose that's true. But her fiance is 39 and you'd think he'd at least realize that there are other ways to fight for rights besides on the battlefield. Shirking that [voting] duty - in light of our soldiers and their families sacrifices - is unthinkable!
