"It's all a Protestant crusade," the man explains.
I'm happy that at least some Muslims have learned the difference between Protestants and Catholics. being a Catholic I'm feeling much safer now :))

They don't believe their own half-witted conspiracy theories. I've seen at least a dozen man-on-the-street interviews with these nutjobs, where they say that Muslims didn't do it, AND brag about how smart the Jihad is, all in one breath.
Its indicative of how broad the support is for terror in the general muslim communities.

No kidding, folks, but such thinking is typical of at least half the Arabs I have met. Paranoia is their normal mode of thought.

The bubonic plague, Martin Luther and former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl all make a cameo. It's all connected somehow, the man is sure of it. Don't forget about remote viewing, crop circles, bigfoot, and the Philadelphia experiment I'm sure it's all related somehow.

I think it is not limited to arabs, I know a few muslims from Pakistan, and they are equally as paranoid and obsessed with conspiracy theories.

These people are nuts. They should go hang out with Cindy Sheehan.
It's particularly amusing since virtually nobody in Germany, Protestant or Catholic, even goes to church anymore. Somehow, I don't see a crusade coming out of that milieu! Unless, of course, the Germans get sick of it all and do what the original Crusades were intended to do - dislodge the Muslims from Christian properties they had taken over and set free the Christians being held in slavery by them. But I guess the jihadi-schen would prefer not to talk about that.

And you wonder just what are they teaching in these very wonderful schools that the hezbos and other terrorist groups are "building". I thought it was just to put children in harms way of the bunkers underneath but I guess it is much more than that.

What about the mobs, in Palestine and elsewhere, that celebrated on 9/11? They didn't believe it was a government or Zionist conspiracy.

Wait! You mean it wasn't the Jews?
I thought all conspiracies to make Muslims look bad were formed by the Jews.
Did I not get an important memo or something?

Ohhhhhhhh. I see now. All the civilized people of the world are attacking themselves, just to make the barbarians look bad. What an incredibly clever plan that is...

I've seen at least a dozen man-on-the-street interviews with these nutjobs, where they say that Muslims didn't do it, AND brag about how smart the Jihad is, all in one breath. Exactly. For anyone that's not familiar with the nuances of Arab culture, they don't take criticism well. They'll deny any harsh truth on the merits of it sounding bad, and placing them in a bad light, without any real consideration for the statement being accurate or not. On the other side of the coin, they'll make ridiculous boasts and claims that are clearly not true, but sound good.
It's very different from the Asian concept of saving face, where the truth is a vital aspect of what respect is given or lost. For Arab culture, the truth is largely immaterial. It's almost all appearance. So the statement, "We don't make Jihad, it's all a Crusader plot to discredit us, but when we make Jihad, we're invincible", makes perfect sense to them. It blames others for their failure, while maintains an illogically high level of confidence.
They're not looking for the truth at all, they're looking for ways to confirm their belief that Islam and Arabs are superior. Once you understand that, none of their statements will seem confusing.
