After calling President Karzai of Afghanistan to discuss security measures and a potential visit, President Bush left the White House early this afternoon to go to Minnesota. In Minnetonka, he participated in a panel discussion on health care, and also signed an Executive Order to help increase the transparency of America's health care system - empowering Americans to find better value and better care. The order will require various federal agencies to compile information about the quality and price of health care they pay for, and share that information with their customers and each other. The White House website has posted a FACT SHEET about this order.
The President also attended a fundraiser for Minnesota Congressional Candidate, State Senator Michele Bachman after the panel discussion, and stopped for a frozen custard in Wayzata.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Mr Ohio puts relish on scalloped potatoes. If I liked scalloped potatoes, I think that would be a great combo. Not liking them scalloped, I stretch my imagination and say that if I liked sour cream, I could see mixing some relish with that, on top of a baked potato. Not liking sour cream, I think I'll go get a hot dog to split open and insert relish into. ;-)

I know without looking that it is a loooooong way! We just can't do those all-nighters. If my hubby drives, I have to stay awake to see that he doesn't go to sleep at the wheel.
I like flying...gets me to where I am going quickly so I have more time to visit.

Well, I'll be honest. On the Denver trip we had five drivers.
BUT, on vacations, we'll often go 15 hours in one stretch. We've made it to Albuquerque in two days.
Basically we're nuts.

I hate to agree...but I agree...you're nuts! LOL! I just have a hard time sitting still for that many hours. I start whining and wiggling after about 4 hours and have managed to drive 8 hours without screaming. But any longer than that, and all bets are off! :D

Hmmmmmm...........I can't remember. Did I do the cooking?? I think so.
But I didn't make the 500 Swedish meatballs that I made for each of the kids' HS open houses.
Never again, Dolly..........NEVER again! LOL!

Good idea to fly, then. :)
We went to Denver twice in June, flew once and drove once. Both have their advantages.
There's nothing like traveling the expanse of this great country by car to appreciate what we've been given by God.
But then again, to get all the way across in a few hours is hard to beat. :)
