America, Bully of the World
I remember our high school bully. I did not like him, and neither did anyone else. We tried to get back at him for his mean treatment, but not with any success. How glad we were when his family moved away.
Undoubtedly, the world's bully today is the United States of America, with all its political and military dominance throughout the world. No wonder we are plagued with terrorists.
How can we deal with it? Certainly not by more bullying, but by drawing back and allowing other nations to play their parts.
Why can't we shut down all our Army, Air Force and Navy bases throughout the world, including the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba?
I'm sure everybody will like us better for it, and acts of terror against us will cease. We will certainly feel more secure. Besides, think of all the money it will save us and how happy our families will be to have our troops home again.
Nobody likes a bully. So let's stop being one.
REV. HOMER SPENCER

( No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo!)
A pity that they get so much ink.
The bully is the one who childishly picks the fights, not the one who finishes them.
(In other words, you beat me to it. >:) )

This has got to be a practical joke. Not even Cindy Sheehan is this simpleminded.
....this guy is a classic example of why the doctrine of 'separation of church and state' still has merit...heh
A little background on Rev. Spencer:
"From A to Z With Acceptance, Knowledge, and LoveShort Essays Explaining Same-Sex Relations
The Spencers provide an understanding from an insiders perspective. Homer Spencer, a retired Presbyterian pastor, and his wife, Sue, a writer, have dealt with questions and confusions about gay people for many years. They have distilled their personal and professional insights into a lively, simple book that provides a quick introduction to the subject.
from the Foreword by Mitzi Henderson, President, National PFLAG, 1992-1996
After Homer and Sue Spencers son came out of the closet, they felt they needed to find out more about homosexuality and same-sex relationships. Like so many, they were ignorant on the subject. They had to search high and low for information because answers to their questions were in scattered books and writings. They found publications that dealt with the scientific and technical aspects of homosexuality but few if any that dealt with the familys need for understanding. Eventually the Spencers wrote Finding OutThe ABCs of Same-Sex Relations because they themselves had experienced the need for such a book.
Simple and straightforward, Finding Out approaches the subject of homosexuality by going through the alphabet and naming words and concepts associated with same-sex relations. Each letter gets two words and each is defined and discussed in a short, accessible essay. Closet, as in in the closet, is discussed under the letter C and is found next to the word companionship. There are words with positive connotations, such as genius and union, along with words commonly thought of as negative, such as faggot and bashing. Each word is discussed in relation to homosexuality, dispelling myths, educating, and throwing light on the subject.
Finding Out is a primer for anyone interested in learning more about same-sex relationships. This is a gentle book that encourage the understanding of homosexuality without tirades or blame. It is a book conceived in acceptance and knowledge and the desire to understand and support a loved one. From A to Z it inspires and informs.
Homer Spencer is a retired Presbyterian minister and missionary. Sue Spencer is a professional writer and a retired educator. They live in Lakeland, Florida

The clergy by their very nature misunderstand the evil that lurks in the universe (and in the hearts of men).
Ping. This should be right up your alley.
The pic in contrast with your tagline is hysterical.
Jimmy Carter was that simple minded.
They already have played their parts, you ninny. We refer to it as 9-11.
Good find.
Thank God they are both retired.
What the heck happened to the Presbyterian's? I used to be a Presbyterian, they didn't used to be like this.
Here's something the whimpy Rev. and his lovely wife published:

You're a silly ass, aren't you?
I don't know how that guy got through a seminary.
But his refrain about America the bully is pretty familiar leftist fare. 'Course, he gives not a single example of it.
I can't think of any either, unless one considers our actions against Saddam, N Vietnam, the Sandinistas, Noriega, the commie thugs at Grenada (forgot the guy's name, Bishop?), Castro, and various and sundry other dictators throughout the world. But then, leftists always love a dictator.
