Gallagher vs Crist (Florida)
Vanity

Posted on 08/20/2006 6:35:22 PM PDT by GOPsupporterFL

Tom Gallagher may be a new conservative (for 5-6 years now) but even when he was liberal he was no more liberal than Charlie Crist is now.

Crist is known to be pro-choice, pro-huge spending increases, which would only lead to tax increases.

In a general election match up against Davis or Smith he was ahead till he started airing commercials. On top of all his liberal flaws, the electorate doesn't seem to like him which was the original reason people were flocking to him instead of Gallagher. Now Gallagher is the more electable choice.

With 2 weeks to go to the primary we've got to wake up. We've got to make sure that an electable conservative, even a reformed conservative, wins the primary instead of a liberal, who's liberal on every issue and is now masquerading as a conservative. His posturing won't fly and will turn off voters.

I wish Jeb were able to run for a 3rd term which is the sense I'm getting from all other Republicans. But between Gallagher and Crist we've got to go with Gallagher and somehow get the word out.

Tom has my vote, no doubt about it. The pro-choice issue alone is enough for me to discount Crist, although there are several others. He was great as our Insurance Commissioner, putting his foot down when after all the hurricanes, the insurance companies wanted to either pull our of FL entirely or escalate our premiums out of sight. He has also done well as our state CFO. I too wish Jeb could run for a third term.

Great guys. There's a thread in which someone made a comparison chart between Gallagher and Crist and Gallagher wins on every issue. We need to get the word out. Everyone discounted Jean Francois Kerry two weeks before the Iowa caucuses. In this case we can win one for the better guy. We need to win this one.

I'm voting for Tom, but I really wish we had a better choice.

For the last several weeks, all I've heard on the local radio stations is John Walsh (America's Most Wanted) stumping for Crist. Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about this guy...but his commercials seem to be giving him quite a bit of visibility.

John Walsh lived in Hollywood, FL when his 6 year old son, Adam, was kidnapped from the Hollywood Mall and murdered.

It could be that his involvement with the Crist campaign stems from the Jessica Lunsford Act, which I think Crist takes credit for. It was enacted after yet another child was kidnapped and killed by a pedophile just over a year ago.

Were voting Gallagher.

St Petersburg Times endorsed Chris, so voting Gallagher is better choice.

Another reason not to vote for Crist.

John Walsh's support for Crist comes from that one ammendment that any sane AG would have passed in any case. McCain's support is because Crist is the perceived frontrunner and McCain is trolling for support for his next attempt at the Double Talk Express. Crist may be the perceived frontrunner but that's because many Republican supporters don't know that he's a flaming liberal. This is starting to come out now. His frontrunner status doesn't count for much as usually the well informed end up being the majority of voters on primary day and that bodes well for Gallagher. We'd all like Jeb - dang term limits - but if it's between Tom and Crist, a man who John Kerry would have little difference with, I think it's very important to get Tom in.

I am voting Gallagher in the primary but if he does not win, I am voting Crist in November. There is no way I am voting Democrat.

Can anyone post a link to the John Walsh website - the site where you can map and find predators in your neighborhood?
