It's hard to beat activism!
No they can't have any of that with elections only a few months away. These bastards still have too much power.
"McCain's stock keeps rising, in my book. He's been a forceful voice of support for the WOT."
Should he run, he will almost certainly shoot himself during a debate. He will be pressed for an answer on an issue and will be frustrated because it will come out badly. He will BLOW his stack and make a complete ASS of himself.
Thus endeth the reign of King John the Rino!
You ain't seen nothin yet. MSM desparately want to change the subject from terrorism, WOT & do everything again on Katrina to put blame on the President to drive-down republican advantage. . Shouting Smith will report from there with all his -ve spin.
Alas Babylon! has posted the live thread for discussing the Sunday Morning Talk Shows over at FreeRepublic.COM. If you can't or don't want to suffer through the talking heads, particularly since it's the same droning faces and voices, over and over again, but you want to find out if any news was made, come on by. Plus, there are some laugh out loud posts:
anita posted this gem early in the thread:
"Cable is all over JonBenet & my cute li 'l brother was questioning me why they arrest the man who beat Liebermann."You won't find that said out loud on any of the Sunday shows, even on cable!
Let us start the day with a rant.
Chuck Hagel. This is a guy who's got to go.
What's he running for President? Okay, so folks running for President, I'll go along with this, need to provide an alternative to the current administration. I understand politics and everything, democracies.
Even the cowards and kooks deserve representation is what I'm saying here.
DO THE CANDIDATES TO THE KOOKS REALLY NEED TO COME FROM THE REPUBLICAN POLITICAL POOL?
Why can't the Democrats provide candidates for those who want to cut and run, for those who want to criticize to the side like an insane Greek chorus-pointing fingers and shout-singing as if a Stephen King movie, for those who are cowards and would just as soon die as lift a finger in defense?
The Republican party should be a little more cohesive, don't you think?
I listened to Hagel and wanted to spit and here I am working in the kitchen...so unsanitary.
They never have one single concrete suggestion. Never one word beyond the same old, same old..."didn't take enough troops into Iraq", "should have kept the Sunni army", "many mistakes".
Just the fact that these pontificating politicos are so teeny-tiny as to come out with silly talking points when they couldn't have done nearly as good as this administration has done since 9/11.
For five years, out of a nation of almost 300 million people, a nation fairly free of movement despite airport lines, we've managed to hone in on homegrown terrorists, we've managed to keep the rest of the planet on their toes as don't tell me those oversea's arrests weren't aided by American surveillance, we've managed to thwart shoe bombers and crazy American "journalists" still carrying dreams of delusion from the sixties.
All the while, mind you, keeping this economy humming and rolling and perking along. Americans live fairly peaceful lives, when all is said and done, in a world where many must constantly flee their precious homes for Hezbollah missiles and crazy North Korea keeps testing nukes.
Facts are facts. Look around. Get in your car and drive down to the grocery, or gather the kids and go on a day trip.
You can you know. With little fear of terrorist attack though hey, we all know one day it might happen.
It would have happened a long time ago had the Democrats, Biden or Chuck Hagel been in charge.
I'd love to write Dubya's after-presidency story. He's got a whole lot to tell.
They are going to wait, since they are all craven slimeballs.
Lots o love,
See ya later, I will take notes.
:0)
I look forward to your media nuggets each week...I especially like your comments, love the "shephez" label. Good work.
Thanks, greyfoxx39.
I think you will find few here agree with your opinion. He is demonstrably a loose cannon.
As the prime pusher for the Senate's Al Qeda Protection Act which he sleazily slid into the 2005 Defense Appropriation bill, McCain has a demonstrated record of NOT being serious about the WOT. He fails Social Conservatives, Fiscal Conservatives, Defense Conservatives. McCain will not be the 2008 Nominee nor a Candidate. That just plain political reality. Next to no one in the Republican base likes him. He is toast
On the mark, as usual Johnnie.
#83, if GE is indeed suffering and they of course are NBC then the writing may be on the wall, but not fast enough we need to help it along. We need to do what Freepers are so good at, making phone calls, emails,Faxes, snail mail,up close and personal. Whatever it takes to drive the point home, the New Media has one very important thing that the DBM does not have "TRUTH". The truth is a huge burden to the DBM,because they are so used to telling whoppers that truth is very alien to them.
Tell him he now has a worldwide fan club
I've nominated his question and your post for a special award this morning. Hopefully snugs will have it up later today and you can capture her lovely work for him.
Timmy is vacationing on Nantucket.
I used to think so to but have come to the conclusion that it wouldn't have mattered. The story would have simply shifted from Bush's failed policies to Bush's attempt to convince the public that his failed policies aren't failures.
My bigger problem with Bush and Conservatives in general is how they allow the Moderate Pubbies and Libs to use terms like "the rich", "the middle class", "working families", "torture", and the list goes on and on, without demanding a definition.
The biggest problem the Pubbies have is allowing Dems to frame the debate with incorrect assumptions (the rich will hold on to their "tax cut", Muslim crazy a$$ fundamentalists would never work with secularists, etc, etc) and undefined terms like the ones listed above.
The Conservatives must today begin to reestablish the parameters and retake the language. Challenge the assumptions, their "fact" and seriously questions the analysis, which is usually just about as shallow as standing water after a summer shower.
did George Carlin, the announced guest, say anything worth hearing? I would automatically assume that he would be in full Bush bash mode, but he behaved himself on Leno's show with Ann Coulter, so I'm curious. Is he mellowing?
