"Initially, six passengers refused to board the flight. On board the aircraft, word reached one family. To the astonishment of cabin crew, they stood up and walked off, followed quickly by others."

NOW THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD START DOING IN THIS COUNTRY.IF OUR GOVERNMENT WON'T START PROFILING .....WE SHOULD!!!

I already do. If I see people who look like they're up to no good, I'll tell the cops ASAP so it's on the record, and they need to check it out if for no other reason than to cover their own butts (which seems to be the primary function of government these days).

The problem in this country (US) is that not all Muslims are Arabs or Pakistanis, and in fact we have a large number of home-grown blacks who are Muslims (and in fact have been engaged in terrorism, such as the DC snipers, or have been caught in broader terrorist plots with Pakistani Muslims). And of course we also have a number of whites, such as the plump, dreary white girls here in Florida who have started flopping around in their mountains of cloth because they have a prison-Muslim boyfriend.

So profiling is a little trickier than it sounds, since we are not permitted to ask for religious affiliation and they would just lie, anyway.

I've been profiling since 9/11.
Anytime I get on a plane,I first look for the people that
I think may cause trouble,...and then I look for the people
that look like they'll help out if I was right about the
first group.

Why not just ban Arab-looking guys from flying at all? The two were checked out, found to be innocent of any wrong doing, and booked for a flight the next day. Suppose the people on that flight mutiny? Then what? Will the police say they checked them out alredy and they're OK? Or do they get bounced again?

Absolutely! It is about time passengers and pilots decided to profile since the PC Governments won't. I will never fly with anyone that is dressed like these men, talks a foreign language, and keeps checking his watch, etc. Not going to happen. The way I feel right now, I wouldn't fly with anyone Arab and actually don't intend to fly anytime soon. I am going back to Florida in late Sep to my daughter's and once again I am driving from OK to FL.

This is precisely what we should be doing in the United States on our own, is right.

Leave the TSA and the airliners to focus on the "items" terrorists would use on flights, inanimate objects, and fail to scrutinize those who human beings, who might carry out such acts, and who generally and commonly fit the criminal profile of the type of people AROUND THE WORLD causing this carnage everywhere. Then, we passengers, ought to make it our business to start questioning young, single, Muslim Arabic males who look suspicious, in line at security, in the passenger lounge, boarding bridge, in the cabin, everywhere. Where you are going today? What's your line of business? Where do you live? What country are you from? Do you speak Arabic? What book is that you are reading? Etc Etc. Examine everything about them, eye them up and down, if they get uncomfortable with it, tough luck. And finally, if suspicious people are allowed to fly, I mean the women in a complete black burqa with only a slit for eyes, then I'd get a group of passengers to protest and leave the plane if called for. PC things in the US will not change until they are overthrown from the ground up, at the grassroots, across the land.

I have been saying this since the plot from a week ago. The security people aren't nearly as vested in the interests of any particular flight since THEY AREN'T ON IT. We, the passengers, however, must consider the passengers on the plane we are on.

I think this is great. Frankly, I'd like to see more passengers do this. While I am sure there may be some false alarms, more likely, I think a group of passengers would make far better profilers, screeners, etc.

Whn not? We already have had to patrol the border when the Government would not.
