They behaved far more rationally than any Western government has been.

Fine with me. Spain is full of Muslims and, in fact, Mohammed Atta spent the month before 9/11 on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, meeting with other terrorists. These people probably weren't going to blow up the short-hop plane they were on, but it doesn't hurt tto let them know that they are being watched very carefully by other passengers.

"For those unfortunate two men to be victimised because of the colour of their skin is just nonsense."
This comment is utter BS. It's a lie. It's obfuscation. It wasn't the color of their skin, it was their language. If Muslims don't like being treated this way, then let them root out the terrorists among them. Lift a finger against terrorism, and non-Muslim attitude might become friendlier.

I submitted this comment:
According to the article, "passengers noticed that, despite the heat, the pair were wearing leather jackets and thick jumpers and were regularly checking their watches." Yet all the lame-brained Tory Homeland Security spokesman can come up with is that the two men were victimised "because of the colour of their skin". Mr. Mercer has obviously not stopped suckling the teat of political correctness and frankly ought not to have a job in his current capacity.

"Asian" passengers? Didn't Michelle Malkin already expose the Euro-Pravda news agencies now referrening to Muslims as "Asians"?? If they were truly "Asian" (as in Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean) why would the passengers have thrown a fit, given that the recent bomb plot was to be carried out by MUSLIMS - not "Asians". This smells of something not good.

Muslims should not be allowed to fly. Period.
They can thank their brothers that they don't do anything to stop. If they don't like the rule, they can go the hell back where they came from.
Things would be so much easier if I was in charge!

These two Islamic men should consider re-booking their future flight plans at:

Maybe they would be more comfortable being served by burqua clad Air Arabia stewardesses.

It sounds like even though airport security in England and here in the USA are prohibited from using racial profiling as a way of screening potential threats, passengers still have the common sense to use the if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck and looks like a duck, then it might very well be a duck approach.
This is why a 9/11 scenario is more unlikely to succeed now.
So even if these guys were not terrorists and were embarrassed and inconvenienced, too bad. This still makes more sense than keep moms from giving their babies milk or any other unnecessary indignities forced upon regular travelers.
