"Asian" passengers? Didn't Michelle Malkin already expose the Euro-Pravda news agencies now referrening to Muslims as "Asians"?? If they were truly "Asian" (as in Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean) why would the passengers have thrown a fit, given that the recent bomb plot was to be carried out by MUSLIMS - not "Asians". This smells of something not good.
In Britspeak, Asian can equate to Mohammedans.
That's a standard British practice dating back far longer than any of us have been alive. It sounds nefarious, only because we don't talk like that.
They are Asians. There is no continent called "the Middle East".
I was going to ask about just that. I have heard the phrase "flying while Asian." What's up with that? I for one have never confused a person of Asian descent with a young Middle Eastern male. If I was Asian, I would be flipping out right now.
Yep, I've noticed the same trend the last few weeks to use "Asian" in place of "Middle Eastern" or "Arab." The MSM is now trying to associate muzzies with Japanese and Chinese. Somehow, the simultaneous word went out to all the MSM. I wonder how they do that. It's like the time a few years ago when Qatar was no longer pronounced Ka-tar' but Cutter.
Again and again.
In the United Kingdom, CHinese, Korean, Thai, Japanese are referred to by respective nationality name, or oriental.
Asians, in the UK, are only those from South Asia. Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans.
To Brits, in this case "Asian" refers to Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.

I didn't know about that. Thank you.
I still put the most emphasis, in this situation, on the leather coats and thick jumpers when it is hot. Leather jackets and thick jumpers may or may not be terrorism, but if it is not terrorism, it very likely is that they were sick. I wouldn't want to be on that plane with those 2, even if they were clean cut and talking in English.
This could get out of hand, but it is the fault of the transportation authorities not being aggressive enough in security checks. Many people believe that the checks might let folks through out of a sense of 'not offending', and that might be the one time that someone has murder in mind. Not every Middle Eastern man who is flying intends to kill himself and all the passengers with him, but ALL of the men who have done that have been Middle Eastern, so people are understandably worried.
The fact that these two guys were overdressed for the situation led folks to panic. Who knows; maybe they think that the airconditioning on the planes is too cold. After all, they're used to hot dry conditions.
If airline passengers could have faith that EVERY passenger will be thoroughly checked, maybe they wouldn't feel the need to take things into their own hands. Remember, al Queda is now recruiting blond, blue-eyed Chechen men, as well as women to do their dirty work. It's even possible that the woman who went ga-ga on the flight that was forced to land in Boston could have been used by her Pakistani boyfriend to bring a bomb on board. NO ONE can be discounted anymore.
In England, the nationalities you listed, are referred to as ORIENTALS. Egyptians, Jordanians, Saudis, Pakistanis, etc. are referred to as "ASIANS".
There's no media conspiracy. This is from a British paper. In England, "Asian" signifies South Asian: i.e. Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, etc. Those whom we in the US would call Asian are referred to there as "Orientals".

Over here it is common to refer to Arabia as Asia, it is not covering things, it is just the way the Euro-peons speak.
This smells of something not good.
When my mother, who grew up in London, would refer to "the asians back home", she was talking about the Pakistani immigrants who lived in London.
