Abu Nasser, commander of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in Nablus, encouraged by war results. 'Our brothers demonstrated what we have felt in recent years: Israel falling apart. Next time Iran will be in picture with missiles on Tel Aviv and it will be easier'

The Palestinian terror organizations are looking north and are filled with satisfaction and hope for the next step.

"We learned from Hizbullah that the tools that make a difference are missiles. If achieve expertise in this field, we won't make do with the simple rockets we have. There is no doubt that we can subdue Israel ," Abu Nasser, a commander in the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Fatah's military wing, told Ynet.

I wonder what lesson Europe has learned from the last month?

Europe has only learned to be even more fearful. A fearful ally exposes one's flanks.

Europe wants to throw Israel to the wolves. They think that will solve the Jihad problem.

What Abu Nasty should be aware of is that knocking off the IDF is not the same as murdering women and children, which is then only thing he really knows from personal experience.

However, that is their plan. They don't intend to directly confront the IDF, but rather to defeat them in the arena of PR. They will continue to fire rockets at women and children and the latest conflict only reinforced the thinking that this is a successful tactic.

As noted on another thread, they are following the old football philosophy of running the same successful play until it is stopped.

If it is working to their advantage, they will be emboldened to continue.

Olmert was moving toward disengagment in the West Bank. He is no longer going in that directin. In my opinion Hamas and Hezbollah have screwed them Pals out of a state for another generation at least, perhaps for good. Some strategic victory.

---
March 2010.

Or when Olmert loses a vote of confidence.

Or when Olmert resigns.

Might be a while.

You're right about the challenges but the United States is unfortunately in its "setting sun" phase(it was a rising sun that Franklin saw Washington seated on in the Constitutional Convention but it is now setting). The people of this country are contributing to its downfall and clearly don't have what it takes to get informed or have the will to fight and, besides, we've now become a self-hating people eaten by America hating, power hungry liberal Demonrats.

The Israelis have to decide how they will resolve this.

But they do have a problem.

I agree that the thought the Hezzies had a victory is self delusion on their part.

I think this "cease fire" is merely a pause to demonstrate what a worthless piece of wasted space the UN is and put the final nail in it's coffin.

The Israeli's now have firsthand ground truthed intel on the hezzies installations.

I think they learned something that made them decide on this cease fire for the time being.

The Israeli's didn't really seem all that concerned with what the rest of the world was saying when this all began, why let it bother them now?

Me thinks there are larger things afoot.

I wish I were as optimistic as others. The problem as I see it, or at least a big part of it, is the Left in Israel. These nuts seem to be in power and the people themselves (well... they elected them!) as in the U.S. seem to be getting lazier and complacent... hoping to find a reasonable enemy willing to "negotiate." They want to be "nice," hoping the arab nuts return in kind. That is what i think is the BIG problem is. They lost touch with reality and lost the will. They have forgotten how much they are hated and that can be a huge mistake.

I wonder, how is it Israel did not take advange of this opportunity to kicked hizbullah out of existance once and for all?... What could they possibly had been thinking?

Yes! What has been demonstrated once again is that the UN tends to prolong conflicts rather than end them, that Hezbollah and Lebanon are joined at the hip, that the Europeans are useless loudmouths, that Israel is a vibrant, fully functional nation state and democracy, and that Iran must be destroyed.

"I wonder, how is it Israel did not take advange of this opportunity to kicked hizbullah out of existance once and for all?... What could they possibly had been thinking?"

Perhaps they were thinking all things in their proper time and place?

Had they gone in and totally destroyed the Hezzies it would have been at an enormous cost of lives, though these lives would have been of hezzie fighters, the Islamofascist PR machine would have spun it otherwise.

They went in and exposed all of these tactics and now the world has time to digest this information.

The next time the lies will not work and Israel will not stop, as larger forces will be involved.

If they appear emboldened then they are delusional.

They were already delusional. Now, they are also emboldened.

This time around, do not let the MSM broadcast. Restrict their access, throw them out of the country and do anything you can to not let them broadcast.

You'll have to tell that to Hezbollah. And I don't believe they would agree.

It wasn't the MSM broadcasting from behind Israeli lines that served up the pure propaganda. That was the MSM broadcasting from Hezbollah's embrace.
