IRAN PREPARES NEW MISSILE TESTS
adnkronos (Italy) ^ | August 18, 2006

Tehran, 18 August (AKI) - Iranian state television has announced that Iran will begin new missile tests on Saturday in five different border regions including along the frontier with Afghanistan. The tests - which will last five days - appear to be a show of strength staged to impress ethnic minorities living in Iran's Kurdistan, Baluchistan and Khorasan provinces

"These manoeuvres serve to re-elavorate the defence doctrine of our nation," said General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, of the Pasdaran revolutionary guards who will be conducting the tests.

Doesnt make sense they are using hezz for a buffer not to get into to a direct confrontation. Any direct confrontation between Syria or Iran with the US or Israel would mean regime change in Iran and Syria, this is a suicide move if they try it. They havent been looking for an excuse to attack Israel so far, because they know they will lose, why would that change? One or two nukes I dont see it. Not yet.

Western reason and islamofascism are not a good mix. The fact it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean it doesn't make sense to a guy seeking to bring about the islamic apocolypse.

The Hezzies aren't the buffer. The Lebanese army is. At this point, a Lebanese soldiers death at the hands of the Israeli military will cause a groundswell of support for Lebanon from all over the world with Iran and Syria taking the lead in condemning Israel. Maybe to the point of war?

I am looking at this as a game of chess. Also taking into account that this isn't about nations but about religion and ideology. Iran isn't looking to capture Israel. They are looking to destroy it which means certain things need to be in place.

If it was simply about launching missiles, that would have already been the case. The Iranians are molding public opinion and and getting the UN behind them.

In 5 days, Iran has to say whether it is going to abandon their nuke program. In addition in 5 days is the 12th of imam or whatever that is. There is an Iranian military exercise and other activities going on as have been discussed here.

Something big is about to happen and Israel and the US are in the middle. I think the US military is going to have their hands full in the coming weeks.

Look out for a deceit of historic proportions. Russia's looking to regain glory. I'm sure they have treaties with the muslims in place for the big day. Turkey could surprise us as well. The 5th column is ready to do their text message revolt in France and Britain. The million man martyr march on the green zone demanding a marines response could get it rolling. The Iranians are chess players. They are going to provoke for cover probably using the Shits in Iraq. I don't like. No siree.

RIDDLE ME THIS

Why are the UN and its member states so unwilling to get troops on the ground in Lebannon?

Why are they delaying (other than they are cowards)?

Because, they don't want to be there when the tinderbox is lit on August the 22nd.

This is what makes me ponder, "what the Hell are they thinking in Washington",

I think at this point all we can do is pray that Washington knows more than we think and that they are preparing for this.

Truth

Why on earth would they remove the mines. All they are doing is clearing the path for Israeli Tanks and Armor to head hogwild into Syria.

It's not like they could actually take on Israel.

Well at least that is the conventional wisdom which wisdom is predicated upon a war with conventional weapons.

Alas, no idiot would open their door to a ferocious military machine like Israel.

Alas, Syrians are not idiots.

Alas, either the door is booby trapped with non conventional weapons, or, more likely yet, they don't expect to find an Israel Military on the otherside but rather the radioactive remnants of a once proud people and civilization.

It is sad that Israel should be the sacrifice in the way that many see Jesus. Israel will be obliterated and its people consumed in hellfire so that the world can awake to this horrible threat to life - to wit, the ideology of death.

Diversions. They like lots of movement and activity all at once when it comes to attacks.

I wonder if they will try diverting us by unleashing the heretofore missing suitcase bombs in the US simultaneously.

We can only pray.

We could have done more.

If only Bush had had the fortitude to impose upon the non-nuclear world, a Monroe doctrine of sorts.

You even try to acquire nukes or WMD we go in and level your facilities and take whatever action we need to, nuclear included, to insure you don't acquire WMD. That's it. No UN mandate. No agreement of the world. No second guessing such bullying or our righteousness. No congressional debates. At some point you have to say that your way of life is wright and anothers is wrong. And you have to be willing to impose your view. It's what every good parent knows when they raise a child.

This is something the Chinese, Rusians, French, and English would have signed off on. In fact it is still possilbe. Bush just needs the intestinal fortitude to mandate such a doctrine and then bring the others kicking and screaming along. Lordy knows a democratic president would never attempt such a thing.

What a surprise! And the targets will be:
1. Northern Israel
2. Southern Israel
3. Central Israel
4. Eastern Israel
5. Western Israel

Lol they are nowhere near molding world opinion to accept the destruction of Israel. You are right that this is a game though, and now if the Hizzys attack it will be seen as it will be Lebanon attaking Israel. Having the Lebanese army there is a benefit for clarity, although little to zero benefit as a buffer. Iran and Syria are in no hurry to go to war with the US, they know it means certain failure and none of the world powers has said anything about taking up arms against the US on thier behalf. Not going to happen right now. Iran and Syria might have regime change soon though, I have thought they would before Bush left office since before the Iraq war.

The sooner we declare war on Iran and remove that despotic regime the better off everyone will be. It is either that or nuclear war between Iran and Isreal.
