100 Angriest Cities In U.S.
wftv ^ | August 15, 2006

A study conducted by Men's Health magazine has found that Orlando, Fla., ranks No. 1 on a list of the angriest cities in the nation.

"Orlando has never been a strategic military target, and yet the folks there are furious," the magazine said.

The magazine looked at the percentage of men with high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and FBI rates for aggravated assaults, as well as workplace deaths from assaults and other violence.

Those numbers were compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Traffic congestion data were also a factor.

Orlando was joined in the top 10 by three other Florida cities -- St. Petersburg, Miami and Jacksonville.

Top 10 Angriest Cities

1. Orlando, Fla.
2. St. Petersburg, Fla.
3. Detroit
4. Baltimore
5. Nashville, Tenn.
6. Wilmington, Del.
7. Miami
8. Memphis, Tenn.
9. Jacksonville, Fla.
10. St. Louis

Orlando set a new homicide record this year Orange County Sheriff is understaffed

You certainly could have fooled me. You can't drive a half a mile without seeing a OCS. When I would drive home at 11:30 when working second shift it was routine to see 2 or 3 drivers pulled over by an Orange County Sheriff.

Philly's is 27th? This list is bogus - Philly should be top 5.

High blood pressure in the South often stems from high sodium levels in the groundwater.

Sorry, no offense meant - but I do read a lot of posts here complaing about all the problems in the South being cause by "yankees". Many people do not realize that more than half of all Detroit area citizens are originally from the South.

And we certainly have our share of problems up here.

You Texans fans are just jealous.

(not ducking and running because Tom Landry taught me better than that...)

September 8, 2002.

Texans' first ever NFL appearance.

Houston - 19
Dallas - 10

:-D

Actually, I have a lot of respect for Tom Landry...

Jax has the highest homicide rate in the state.

In the nation too I believe.

Um, no:

2004 Rankings [The latest complete ranking available]

Highest in the State? Perhaps. That's not something I would take a slap at without a source.

...but, hey, some people find spreading unsubstantiated rumors to be enjoyable. However, if your verbal diarrhea keeps one damn yankee from coming to Florida with furniture instead of just their wallet and a return plane ticket... keep on doing what you're doing.

33. Greensboro, N.C.

I was in Greensboro last week. I grew up there so I assume everyone has as well. Someone honked at me for merging and I waved at them like I always have done. That really pissed them off. It's Gboro. There is traffic. Hellooooo. Learn to relax.

God, I love living in the mountains.

Youbetcha. I firmly believe that 'Paradise Lost' would be a more appropriate title for a history of the State of Florida than a Milton classic.

No offense taken. The thread was about being angry. Haha. No, we grew up blaming yankees, in a joking way, for different problems. Now we are being overrun by Hispanics. I still say people are people. And if they are to be judged they should be judged individually. My wife and parents are from the NorthEast and sometimes yankee jokes may be tolerated and other times . . . .

Too many tourists? Dunno....but there are plenty of tourists, locals and anyone else who seem to be driving a car for the first time in their lives.

Steering wheel? Gas pedal? Hello?

It's a reenactment of "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer" every day.

Florida is dominated by retired New Yoick/New Joisey/Northeast socialist Kondo Kommandos. They are liberal, demanding, greedy, whiney, obnoxious, perpetually fearful, and bitter.

They are DemoRats to the very core of their calcium-pills-saturated bones.

Then there's the drifters and wanderers who find they can live for next to nothing in Florida by finding low-paid work in construction, low-skill services or lawn cutting. It's warm in the Sunshine State, so they can sleep in some corner on a beach if necessary.

Then there's the Florida educational elite, the militant teachers, the welfare leeches, the "victimized" ethnic groups, the resident Scientology industry, the almost 100% liberal press......

In short, so many groups and other entities vieing with each other, hating each other, afraid of each other, envying each other. The media continually stirs the pot, from the-sky-is-falling hurricane scare tactics, to the environment killing everyone and to the Bush is insane and reckless template.

Then there's a massive group of retirees from all over the country who have no interest in current affairs or the state of the Union. They don't know who their senators or reps are. They scarcely know a war is going on. They don't want to "discuss politics".

They can only talk about their grandchildren, their last surgery, or where you can get a 99-cent breakfast.

However, there's also the long-time Florida families and first-class northern transplants who are wonderful decent people. It's a shame that liberals, leeches and criminal weirdos (rampant in Florida) have given this beautiful state a bad name and have caused it to be over-represented at the top of the "angriest cities" list.
