WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government has misplaced the original recording of the first moon landing, including astronaut Neil Armstrong's famous "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," a NASA spokesman said on Monday.

It has got to be Soooo tempting if you have a piece of history in your hand like the tapes (or the rocks).
Well, Art Bell says we never got there anyway....
I'm not surprised either.
It's a shame.
Well I'm sure Richard Hoagland knows why they "lost" them. Cause it showed a bunch of aliens.
Art Bell is a tragic nutcase.
He's headed for a rubber room in the near future.
Does he really? I want to see his voter registration card. Someone that stupid has GOT to be a 'rat.
Sheesh!!
Well, in Islam, the moon is the gate of the heaven. Man is not suppose to be able to travel to and from the moon. Man is sent back as rain if he can't pass the gate ^-^
How many copies do we have?
Agreed "One" Original lost is Bad, but I doubt it if it was functional anyway.
TT
Art Bell says we went there, BUT that the photos were altered to hide evidence of an ancient alien civilisation or Masonic Lodge or Kwik-E-Mart.
1001 but it is bad form to count

I assure you, I searched for NASA, moon, tapes under key words and title.
Besides, it appears not everybody is aware of it, by the responses.
SHEESH!!!!!
According to the article, over 700 tapes (origonals) are missing. All recorded from the surface of the moon. We have copies, and the data is NOT lost, but the fact and historical value of the tapes is lost.
Well this is the first time I saw it. Thanks for posting.
Loonie moonbats attempting to alter the tapes, to try and fool the world into thinking the US never landed on the moon???
That was the first thing that came to mind.
My dad took a picture of the TV with a polaroid. Does that help?
OH, the posting police think one article, by one newspaper has all the info we need.
In fact, this is the first time I saw (in a quick scan) that over 700 tapes were missing.
Have they checked on eBay?
You have it right.
Use Coast to Coast to drowse off to sleep myself. Art Bell said the very first time was a genuine landing. It seems that the second time the landing was achieved, some mishap fouled up some footage.
I heard it that some genius put out photographs of the first landing, to satisfy demands. It was soon evident that some hokey pokey occurred. This does not prove very much. It did disturb Art though.
Lastly, Murphy opened a bar on the moon. Unfortunately he had to close it down- reason?
Lack of atmosphere. (with appologies to Hal Roach).
