Today President Bush traveled to the National Counterterrorism Center in McLean, Virginia to attend a briefing. Following the briefing, the President made a statement to the press, crediting the agency for its part in foiling the terror plot in England last week.

Before his death, my dad was a mason whose lodge was in Twinsburg. Each year the masonic brothers volunteered at Twins Day in various roles. The twins LOVE posing for pix. So many are natural ham-bones. I think this might come from so much, so early of the attention & social skill development that comes with twins

Thanks Deb. It is interesting how each of us has ways to contribute. Many of us do graphics, several are the thread hosts/hostesses, you do "must reads"/polling analysis, some do historic backgrounds, some are the Dubya cheerleaders/bushbots & all of us drool a lot..

Both of those programs sound good. I will have to keep my eyes open for them. Maybe I'll suggest them as Christmas gifts (now I'll have an answer when people ask what I want).

No spending right now. I need to save it for DC. I booked my trip. I got a deal for under $850 that includes flight, shuttle service to and from the airport, a travel protection plan, and hotel. I'm staying for 5 days and 4 nights, and my hotel is 2 blocks from the White House.

Senator Feingold's office called me back today about my tour requests. His staff was able to get me tours of both the Capitol AND the White House! Just a week from Friday. I'm especially excited about the White House. I wonder if the scent of Dubya's cologne wafts through the hallways.

Dick Cheney speaks to a group of GOP donors, Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, in Phoenix. Cheney appeared at a $500-a-plate luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa supporting the Arizona Republican Party. It was the second time this year he visited the state to support Republican candidates.

That sounds marvelous!!!!! I hope you have a tremendous vacation. Is this a first time to DC trip? if yes, make sure you see the outdoor memorials(WW2,vietnam, Korea, FDR etc)

I have been to DC maybe 15 times in past 10 years & have yet to get to white house. I always say "next trip".. but it never happens!
