How does a Commander in Chief fight a war when he has to live by the rules of the UN and the other side doesn't?
So the appease-fire is falling apart already huh? Big surprise.
It appears that this was the Breaking thread.
Doogle
This is completely predictable. The Hezzies are going to try to bait Israel into a reaction. When questioned about these rockets, they'll say it's not their fault because they're not really an organized army, or because their communications systems were damaged, or some other bogus excuse. Twelve hours from now, there'll be some other provocation. It's their usual routine, attack then deny responsibility.
That took long enough.... they gauging the range?
I only have one flag pole. I can fly the Israeli 4x6 flag alone if I want....I do that sometimes. But my house is in the USA so I almost always fly the Stars and Stripes up top.
How long until Olmert declares a unilateral ceasefire?
Each flag should be at the top of its own flagpole, NEVER under another flag.
That was my first thought.
this morning I saw Sara Lee on DC's ABC-7 announcing over and over how Israel had broken the ceasefire and they 'claimed' it was in self defense. little twit.
This reminds me of how we were able to unilaterally invade Iraq. Something about a couple of UN resolution violations that the UN did nothing about - and everyone suspected Saddam would not honor.
Could it be this was planned?
Anyone can use anything I put here. If you don't like that, I have others.
Lebanon supposedly agreed to the ceasefire but does that really hold any sway with the Hezbollah? Is the Hezbollah acting on behalf of Lebanon or is Lebanon acting on behalf of the Hezbollah?
And if Hezbollah is the real aggressor and acting independently from the government of Lebanon, then how could the government of Lebanon agree to anything? And if the government of Lebanon and the Hezbollah are one and the same then certainly one cannot trust the word of either.
And if Lebanon/ Hezbollah really wanted to act in good faith would they not have released the kidnapped Israeli soldiers, unless of course they are already dead in which case they were never really kidnapped but murdered in cold blood.
And on the eve of the supposed ceasefire wasnt Israel moving tanks and shelling across the boarder? Did Israel withdrawal before the ceasefire was supposed to have taken effect?
The scorpion couldn't swim and the frog was lost, so the scorpion proposed a deal: Give me a ride on your back and I'll show you the way.
The frog agreed and the trip went fine until they got to the middle of the river and the scorpion stung the frog. As they were both sinking to their deaths, the frog asked in his dying breath, "why would you do that?"
To which the scorpion replied, "because it is the Middle East."
It is the law of our land, not the stinking UN.
If Kerry and Co. were in charge we might have to follow the UN but thankfully we were spared that.
Except for the concentration of Israeli troops they *did* hit, killing twelve.
and then they decide to launch more rockets.
lol!
I think the resolutiuon was a smart move knowing the hezzies and Lebanon would not abide by it when Israel would. Breaking the ceasefire and not enforcing the resolution gives Israel a green light to wipe the hezzies out for good. All Kofi will be able to do now is look on from the sidelines.
The Katyushas fired today killed 12 Israeli troops in So. Lebanon? Damn.
