Two Fox News journalists kidnapped in Gaza: witness (Update: see Post #193)

GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.

The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.

The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.

The witness said two vehicles blocked the journalist's transmission truck in the center of Gaza City and a masked man put a gun to the bodyguard's head, forcing him to the ground.

The kidnappers then sped away with the two journalists.

Similar incidents in the past in Gaza have ended with the release, usually within hours, of kidnapped foreign journalists or aid workers.

Many of the abductions were carried out by Palestinians pressing a grievance against the Palestinian government or its security forces

Not only the friary but the printing house had been expanding. More modern machinery had been installed, including three machines which could produce 16,000 copies of the review in an hour. New techniques of type, photogravure and binding were adopted. The new machinery and techniques made it possible to meet the growing demand for —which had now reached the incredible circulation figure of 750,000 per month—and to produce other publications as well. In 1935 they began to produce a daily Catholic newspaper, , of which 137,000 copies were printed on weekdays and 225,000 on Sundays and holydays.

Years later, after the war, the Polish bishops sent an official letter to the Holy See claiming that Fr Kolbe's magazine had prepared the Polish nation to endure and survive the horrors of the war that was soon to follow.

the link to this comprehensive article is in my previous post. He was a brilliant, motivated and energetic man.

The nazis killed him by injection because he would not die of the starvation to which he was being subjected.

They burned his body and scattered his ashes because they feared the kind of influence he had had at Auchwitz.

So because he is potentially a poor reporter or a graceless boob when interviewing victims, it would be fine with you if muslims savages kidnapped him? That's a pretty harsh standard.

An American and an Irishman have been abducted by godless bastards known to behead people with whom they do not agree. It doesn't matter whether you are jokingly wishing for his abduction because of his appearance or because of his performance - it is inappropriate and you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

...the wrath of Freepers everywhere.

Which amounts to what, exactly?

Not to be a downer, but what're we gonna do, flame them on the 'net?

We've got a healthy bloc of well-armed citizens among our ranks, but they're not going to be boots-on-the-ground in theater -- ever. And, apart from going the totally black ops mercenary route and taking these terrorist scum down with individually prescribed lead pills, what other recourse have we got? None.

Look, I agree with the sentiment that we need to be involved and DO more than just tap away at our keybords, but, at times like this, we've got to admit that there are areas, like this, in which we are almost completely impotent to act.

Frustrating? Hell, yes!

I'd much rather be studying the effects of sustained fully-automatic weapon fire on terrorists, myself, but it just ain't gonna happen. This one's up to The Big Man and local help on the ground over there, and we've got to just be okay with that.

I know what you mean, it just hits close to home. Fox News is on in my house almost 24 hours a day and it feels personal.

Shep is a biotchy little ghoul who should retire to karaoke stages in Key West.

I'd trade Hamas 2 or 3 Sheps for Steve Centanni.

"Frankly, it wouldn't be funny if they kidnapped some lowlife like Michael Moore or Dick Durban either."

I beg to differ.

Shame on you. You may not like him. Wishing him in the hands of Muslim terrorists is hideously evil.

Absolutely. We have them on so much that they're kind of like part of the family.

Prayers with the two. I hope they are released but take and share a valuable lesson, the terrorist expect reporting one way, in favor of them truth or not, and if it's not done that way they will do drastic things.

There's a difference between being a tasteless boob and taking advantage of somebody who may have lost a loved to one of those savages.

Let me put it like this, having somebody interview his family the way he interviewed that Israeli family might cause him to realize what he did, and put things in perspective when it comes to interviewing others in the future.

The guy was just a scumbag the way he treated that family.

Same here. FOX is always on, even when listening to the radio. TV has always been an extended family to me.

And I LIKE Geraldo and Shep!! But I can understand why some don't. I'd never wish harm on them. Michael Abu Musab Moore is another story.

ummm... YES!

I have to hand it to you for being able to venture over there. They can't all be so vile and moronic, but just the same I can't take it.
