We all woke up Wednesday morning to learn of the Brit plot. By 8am edt Cspan callers that morning were already saying that the whole thing was concocted by Bush/Blair to take people's minds off of what is happening in Lebanon and Iraq, The truly demented seem to have cspan on their speed dial.
Not that I heard, Timeout.
Weicker, a former Governor in CT, ran as an Independent.
Dean is on now...this will be good. Is Melman on at the SAME time?
Bush does many things, other than attending republican fundraisers. This is one of those.
Dean says the way to help this country is to get rid of Republican power.
There, I fixed this a bit.
Dean : We believe the war in Iraq is a mistake and we don't want to bring the troops home with a date certain, but it's clear that there has been a lack of leadership.
Gregory: Hillary Clinton supported the war; does she need to recant that support to run for the presidency?
Dean: I won't respond to questions about 2008. (LOL - since when?)
O2 is a cell phone network?
That is an interesting tidbit I hadn't heard here in the middle US. The cable news may have mentioned it, but I missed it.
I'd hope officials do more 'behind the scenes' stuff than we may ever know -- or that MSM would print/broadcast if they could.
You see good Brit!
Dogs and kids. Don't want yours anywhere touching my body unless I ask for it.
Gregory: Lieberman said in the wake of the UK bombing plot that Lamont's victory will be taken as a victory by the terrorists.
Dean: Thinks it's an outrageous statement and it's ridiculous. That's saying to CT they don't care for American security and that CT voters like AQ. Name calling doesn't lead America and we need a new direction to make the homeland safe not just from terrorists but for the middle class. The middle class isn't safe now - they can't count on health care, college or pensions.
The war on terror is a distraction and has nothing to do with the WOT and that's what the 9/11 Commission said. The people who fought terrorism best are the British who discovered this plot.
Gregory: Do you think a push for democratic reform in the ME is imperative to win the WOT.
Dean: Yes but Saddam was a pain the neck and a bad person but had no military or airplanes and we should have gotten rid of the Taliban once and for all instead of this distraction. Also, we ought to disarm NK. Saddam didn't pose as serious a problem as other areas of the world.
MTP
Dean: We need a new direction.
[Like Kerry in 04, they are wanting a 'new direction'. Trouble is, they can't seem to define what that 'new direction' is. It could be to wealth and milk and honey, or it could be over the cliff. A 'new direction' for the sake of a 'new direction' does not necessarily lead to a 'better direction'.]
Ha! It appears Dean has once again refused to appear WITH Mehlman. I don't believe he has done so since becoming chairman. Harder to lie if your counterpart is breathing down your neck the whole time.
What a girly man.
Now here 's this sunday's Media Nuggets
###### Coulter Power! - Shreveport Tmes editor was angry at Ann Coulter's strong criticism of John Murtha & wanted to drop her weekly column in his paper, but can't. Reason? - more than 60% of it's readers wrote "if you drop her, I'll drop you".
###### Dream on! - ABC's political director Mark Halperin who predicted 2004 Kerry victory & wrote that infamous memo [leaked during Florida debate], comes up with his new book - "The Way to Win: Taking the White House in 2008" co-authored by Wash.Post journo - John F. Harris.
###### Veteran NBC network correspondent blows the whistle & says "it pains me to see what passes for accurate coverage" about their War Reporting. But then, we knew it already.
###### Rupert Murdoch is teaming with Conservative Media giant Phil Anschutz to jointly produce Family Films. [Anschutz is the publisher of free Examiner newspapers in Baltimore, Washington and San Francisco & co-produced "The Chronicles of Narnia".]
###### Al Sharpton says - "Juan Williams is the black Ann Coulter with pants". He even attacks the right-wing politics for Fox News. [Will O'Reilly stop calling him "stand-up guy?"]
###### U2 Rock star Bono is teaming up with Steve Forbes and his family and buy 40% stake of Forbes. Bono now believes Forbes' theory of "The way you solve poverty is giving people the tools to overcome it."

###### FNC's Jane Skinner's husband is Roger Goodell, the next NFL commissioner.
###### News Corp. profit rises 19 percent, boosted by advertising sales at the Fox News Channel.
###### 'Dallas Morning News' to Slash 85 Newsroom Jobs.
###### 'Mainstream Media Meltdown' . - magazine newsstand sales are at an all-time low and newspaper circulation is "declining faster than ever".

###### McKinsey Study Predicts Continuing Decline in TV Selling Power, 50% Drop in Viewers & TV advertising will be one-third as effective as it was in 1990.
###### Bill Cosby complains that WashPost abusing its power.
I see that Howard Dean is still not willing to appear with Mehlman. If you are an intelligent person, I don't care where you are on the political spectrum, you cannot listen to Dean and hear anything that resembles actual thinking.
