Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said on Saturday that his organization would abide by the United Nations resolution calling for a cease-fire although he was not completely satisfied with its text.

I'll believe it when I see it

Hizbullah is full of BS

Lying sacks of crap - all of them. Israel should not accept this phony "cessation of hostilities".

...Hizbullah's Al-Manar TV, which continues to broadcast despite repeated IAF attack on its studios and transmitters, declared "victory" over the weekend, saying that the IDF had failed to score military achievements.

The broadcasts are being aired under the banner of: "We won!"; "We have defeated the invincible army"; and "July-August 2006 - the shattering of the myth [of the mighty Israeli army]." The station has also been airing video clips showing thousands of Lebanese hoisting Lebanese flags and chanting slogans in support of Hizbullah.

Like several other Arab television stations, Al-Manar has been repeatedly reminding viewers that this was the second "defeat" for Israel, coming after the IDF's May 2000 withdrawal from Lebanon.

Arab commentators and journalists were almost unanimous in saying that Hizbullah had won the war. Most of them pointed out the heavy casualties that Israel has suffered, as well as the destruction of a large number of Merkava tanks and the firing of rockets at many Israeli towns and cities.

Of course Olmert is showing them wrong and invading now...four weeks late and after the UN vote!

I'm not ashamed of Israel but I am livid at those running her government for abandoning the boys to their fate and letting down the country. They all they have to go. They are men with small minds lacking in greatness, who place comfort and convenience above duty and devotion. Just as they abandoned Eli Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, so too will they be thrown to the dogs.

Wars are nation against nation, not terrorist hitting everything and the other side only hitting military targets.

There is no fear or pain placed on the terrorist if you don't try and hit their host.

No war can be won in a PC fashion.

Israel is taking -- as she always does -- the moral high ground, and not without calculation. Israel once again demonstrates that she desires peace. She is being diplomatic, as she who is hated above all else must be. If she did not accept a "cease fire" agreement that appeared reasonable, she would be labelled "unreasonable."

She has done her part in the dance of diplomacy. Rest assure that her guns will not rust.

(Nasrallah described the decision to dispatch Lebanese soldiers to the south of the country as an "achievement" for Hizbullah and Lebanon)

If it's such an achievement for Hizbollah, why did they prevent the Lebanese army from taking over the south of Lebanon for all those years? BS Alert!

We won! We won! We forced our nation's soldiers to take over our territory!

Gotta admit, a lot of the shine is off of the IDF after this whole scene.

Dear PM Olmert,

I honestly didn't think that any politician could do more damage to the survival of Israel than Clinton's support of the terrorist leader Arafat, and treating him as a "head of State," while pressuring Israel to give in.

Wow, was I wrong. If I heard correctly that you overrode the IDF plan to strike hard into Lebanon, "cutting off the head" of Hezbollah, instead going with an air campaign and strictly targetted air strikes.

Congratulations on handing a very clear military victory to a terrorist organization over one of the best military powers in the world. Put plainly, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, Hezbollha has survived open combat with the IDF, and walked away victorious. This will be seen as being nearly on the scale of the loss of Vietnam by the US. At least with Vietnam, the US was just humliated: In the case of Israel, the survival of the country is now in jeopardy.

Mark

Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah

That he is being treated as the leader of a legitimate nation is insulting and despicable. He is a terrorist, and he will lie.

According to muslim mentality, the germans won WW2 because it took till 1945 for the allies to reach Berlin.

Nasrallah warned, however, that despite the UN resolution, the war was still not over. "We must be aware of the fact that the war will continue for another few days," he said. "That's why we are continuing to fight today. We will fight as long as Israeli soldiers are in Lebanon."

Does that mean the Israeli soldiers you kidnapped and are hiding in Lebanaon is an excuse to keep up your terror campaign?
