There's been virtually no interest in even promoting (bumping) the rally, much less attending.

I should add, on Free Republic. Fortunately we do have some other avenues that are showing more interest, so hopefully we can still salvage a decent rally. But I'm less than cocky that'll turn out to be the case.

This isn't simply about this event, Red. This is a recurring problem here at FR, and I've made no secret at how disgusted I am with FReepers in general when it comes to actually getting off their butts and doing something.

A thread about this rally is lucky to get a few hundred views, many of them probably from a handful of us. But put an Anna Kournikova title on the same thread, and you're up to 17000+ views. (Of course you're still at about the same number of attendees...)

Maybe we need to take the message to another forum. Like taking out an ad in the Johnstown paper or running some radio ads. I'm too far away to know what would work but I'm good for some money if somebody has a plan.

Right now I think I am leaving the north coast early morning on the first, headed to Monroeville to meet up with some of the right wing rabble from the Pittsburgh area.

I will probably have room for two more FReepers if you are interested in going. We may car pool from there, maybe join a rented bus, (parking problems avoided). Badray is keeping me in the dark, so I will just wait for direction.

First come, first served, join us for a day of standing up and telling the world what an A$$ John Murtha is.

I am bringing some flags, I don't know if we will have room for signs.

I was talking Saturday with a Vietnam brother at a RT Support The Troops Rally in Manaca, PA. He says the word is out nationwide for RT to converge on Johnstown Oct. 1st in support of BootMurtha.

He said national learned about it here first, and went to the BootMurtha.com link from here!

There's no better way I can thanks the troops then to be there on October first and be counted. So that's what I'm going to do. And I know we're going to have a turn-out that'll make the good people of Johnstown take notice.
