Police want residents of the Salem area to check the undercarriage of their cars for signs of pipe bombs like the four discovered around Salem and Dallas on Thursday.
There may be more bombs out there, police said.
Two of the bombs were found attached to cars with wires and other two probably were attached to cars, too, but fell off and were found on roads, Salem police said this afternoon. The drivers of the cars may never have been aware of the bombs.
Police said they considered the episode "a very serious situation."
All the of the devices could have caused severe damage to cars and killed the people inside, said Salem Police Lt. Bill Kohlmeyer.
"Suffice it to say they were extremely dangerous," he said.
The two bombs attached to vehicles were found in the parking structure of the Salem Hospital and in the parking lot of the Tyco Electronics plant in Dallas. The other two were found on Center Street next to Roth's IGA and on Woodside Drive.
Bomb squads disabled all of the devices and no one was injured.
No, good clean fun... ;)
It almost feel's like god is watching over us.
I can't put my finger on it, but something about this makes me think domestic nutcase.
Thanks for the post, I sent it to my mom and aunt who both live there.
My first thought was something to do with meth....
/s of course
I was thinking nut case too, but terrorists have been arrested around Oregon and Washington. There's weirdos in the woods here. LOLL
I agree.
I tend to agree. This doesn't fit the tactics of Al-Qaeda types.
It sure caused terror, but I don't think it was from organized terrorists.
Well I hope they catch the %ukers!

Are any of the bombs connect to pay as you go cell phones?
connect = connected
Sheesh - my sister just got home from there last night. Everything I read these days about my birthplace saddens me. If only Oregon could return to what it once was.
