Gay activists to challenge military's 'don't ask, don't tell'

A group of gay activists are beginning a national campaign against the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays.

In the next few months, gay men and women in their late teens and early 20s will attempt to enlist at recruiting offices in 30 cities, including Bloomington, Indiana. They will also disclose their sexual orientation.

If they are rebuffed, the activists plan to stage sit-ins at the offices, hoping to attract media coverage and support from a public they believe increasingly opposes the ban.

Organizers have dubbed the campaign Right to Serve.

The military is prohibited from asking recruits about their sexual orientation, and commanders are limited in their ability to investigate rumors or allegations of homosexuality in the ranks.

"do you how frick'n mean a bull dyke can be?"

Yeah....look at Janet Reno...

But then, they aren't real good at takin' orders from men, are they?

To believe they really want to enlist is ludicrous; to believe they want MSM to promote their agenda and recruit new members is the reality....

Hey, I have an idea. Let's allow homos to serve openly in the military. Then we can have more incidents like this:

From Frontpage Magazine, Feb. 4, 2004:

"Odder still is the attempt to make some sort of martyr out of former Lt. Col. Steve Loomis, a Vietnam war veteran and recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Liberals point to his dismissal from the Army in 1997, purportedly because of his sexuality, as proof that the United States military is a backwards institution running a witch hunt for homosexuals. In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Lawrence v. Texas, which struck down a sodomy law on the grounds that it “furthers no legitimate state interest,” Loomis has brought a lawsuit against the government over his dismissal. "So how was it that the United States Army “outed” Loomis? Well, it was right about the time his house burned down and pornography he had made with enlisted men was found in the debris. Furthermore, the arsonist turned out to be an enlisted man Loomis had been photographing nude."

Why not create a "Gay Brigade" for these people that is separate from the rest of the troops?

If they really wanted to serve they could just keep their sexual orientation secret.

You are totally right. These people don't actually want to serve; they are just attention whores.

If the draft were reinstated, these people would be among the most vocal opponents to gays in the military because they have no desire to actually fight for this country.

Indeed, serving in the Military is a priviledge, Not a right.

The Military's major function is to Break Things and Kill People. This requires teamwork and trust between the Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen. Anything, ANYthing that detracts from this ability to perform their function is dangerous to all involved, military or civilian.

The Military is NOT a social club, NOT an experiment in diversity, NOT to be changed through social engineering, despite what the leftys say.

That's right, and it used to be "I got your back", whereas now the fags want it to be "I got your back-side...."

Military service is a privledge, not a right.

If military service is a privilege, why are vets given extra privileges on top of that? Ten point hiring bonus (qualifications be damned)? Hell, they've already gotten goodies bestowed upon them by merely going to boot camp and following orders...

I'm sorry but I was in the military and I sure wouldn't want a lesbian next to me while I was showering.

Under today's policy you can still have one showering next to you, right? You just wouldn't know it, right? Ignorance is bliss at times. Anyway, I've never served in the military and I wouldn't want to shower next to one either (I am a woman btw).

Sounds like you've never served in combat, but lost a job due to a veteran out-pointing you.....

"A gay brigade, as it were."

Gotcha.

Maybe a change in policy IS in order: let the gays be properly recognized, by wearing rainbow helmets?

The Muslims would love that, I'm sure.

If they are rebuffed, the activists plan to stage sit-ins at the offices

In a related story, the United States Army just announced plans to stage "boot-ins" at random recruiting centers, including one in Bloomington, Indiana. According to Department of the Army spokesmen, a "boot-in" consists of drills in which military personnel seize large objects that clutter the surrounding area, then apply a specially designed combat boot to some fleshy portion of the offending object in an effort to induce a ballistic trajectory of said object to some other vicinity. "It's like kicking a really fat, inert soccer ball," said Staff Sgt. Dirk "Size 15" Steele, a veteran of several boot-ins during the 60's.
