LATimes: Muslims Upset by Bush's Remarks
Los Angeles Times ^

Posted on 08/11/2006 5:21:58 AM PDT by quesney

President Bush was widely criticized by Muslim leaders Thursday for saying that the breakup of an alleged plot to blow up airliners over the Atlantic Ocean was a triumph in the "war against Islamic fascists."

Muslims, already resentful of the scrutiny they have been under since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, said the politically charged phrase unfairly connected one of the world's great religions with Nazism and totalitarianism --- and fueled hostility against Islam and Muslims in America.

They said it also contradicted Bush's earlier statements that Islam was a religion of peace.

"There's nothing Islamic about fascism," said Edina Lekovic, communications director for the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Los Angeles.

Swing and a miss, yet again. What is that, strike fifteen? I want vociferous, public, garment-rending condemnations from peace-loving Muslims. It's very very hard not to discriminate against a people who collectively look the other way when their brethren plot such wickedness in the name of their religion. Very hard. (Sigh).

Also, I think muslims think that terrorism shouldn't necessarily be relegated to the lower moral ground...I think their true colors are beginning to show.

Personally, I think "Islamicoms" is a better word for it.

These Islamic terrorists are so heavily influenced by radical leftist/Marxist ideology that a reference to "communism" seems most appropriate.

Islamicommies perhaps?

I suggest MAZI, pronounced just like it looks, and meaning Muslims who act like Nazis.

I like it.

I hope to see a day in the not-too-distant future where these muzzies don't feel safe walking down the streets of civilized nations. We've let these cockroaches overrun our society. It's time to call the exterminator!

Sure wish the Muslims would get just as upset over terrorists plotting to kill innocent people.

Now muslims upset?! Is that news? When it was last time they were upset? A previous minute and a minute before that, and so on...

"Muslims, already resentful of the scrutiny they have been under since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 . . . "

TOUGH. The attackers were all Muslim. If they are so resentful about the scrutiny, they need to leave this country. I won't miss a single one of them.

Muslims... ... said the politically charged phrase unfairly connected one of the world's great religions with Nazism and totalitarianism --- and fueled hostility against Islam and Muslims in America.

Unfairly?
There are significant numbers of muslims worlwide -- and their supporters --- that would do the Fourth Reich proud. The only disagreement is as to how many. The sandmaggots would like to claim 0.1% of the total, or only 1,200,000 . My personal opinion is closer to 80%, or 960,000,000. Either way, the rest of civilization is in a world of hurt.

Hostility?
Muslims in America have not seen hostility!
When their due finally arrives, there will be no need for whining and press releases.

Muslims worldwide have had generations to fix their image. They have not chosen wisely.
Now their potential victims must fix it for them. The hard way.

"There's nothing Islamic about fascism," said Edina Lekovic, communications director for the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Los Angeles.

Maybe, maybe not. There is a case to be made.

But, there sure is something facist about Islam, and that's way beyond question.

If the 'moderate' Muslims wish to change the image of Islam, then they need to root out the terrorist elements of Islam and destroy them. Nothing short of that will change MY mind.

Absence of action against the terrorists gives tacit approval to the actions of the terrorists.

They are either with us or against us.

Not to nit pic but Fascism is a political philosophy and not applicable to a religious movement. I think a more accurate term for the muslim savages is Islamic fanatics.

If there were any muslims with the courage to step out of line, they would be killed.
