Jennifer Griffin on now saying the issues which are the sticking points are:

1. No mention of chapter 7, Israelis concerned because that force wouldn't necessarily be authorized to use force.

2. Shabba Farms is mentioned as an issue that must be resolved. Israel does not want it included because this is a causus belli for Hezbollah. Israel says it is SYRIA's, and will not give Hezbollah a victory.

3. Prisoners unconditional release is mentioned but does not say they must be returned before a cease fire takes place.

4. Withdrawal wasn't going to be in stages, but immediate pullout leaving a gap with no force there.

Ignore what Rice and Livni say. Diplomats are paid to lie for their country and they're doing it well to soothe the savage media beast.

I have no doubt, no doubt whatsoever, that the entire diplomatic kabukki dance has been a ruse. Maybe Israel needed more time for something. Maybe Bush felt like he and Tony needed the cover of TRYING the U.N. route. Or maybe the delay had something to do with yesterday's bomb plot.

But I am certain that unleashing Israel on the Hezbos was the end game all along. (the only question is whether France was in on it or did they get duped by Bolton/Bush/Blair/Rice?)

He just said it again....and says, of course, these reserves have families and would rather be home, but feel committed to defend Israel. I think ALL soldiers feel that way. He seems to think this is worth repeating.....oh well, that's why he's paid the big bucks and I can sit here and critique his reporting. lol

Its a bad ceasefire. No ceasefire is preferable to one that just makes things worse. The IDF can bring order to chaos where the UN has failed. It just needs to be given the chance to impose it. By then the very worst of the fighting should be concluded..

Kofi Annan doesn't sound like a man in a hurry. This is the lumbering, ineffective sloth liberals love. As I've always said, pacifists breed wars, armies establish peace. That's being proven right now.

Miss Marple, if those are the sticking points for Israel in a proposed draft resolution, do you honestly believe that President Bush would not also find them to be sticking points?

I can't believe he would let Bolton sign on to such a thing. It sounds like the exact opposite of what he has publicly stated, repeatedly, as well as has Condi and Bolton.

There is something going on here that we don't fully understand.

Which to your great credit you have pointed out several times.

I just lost Fox News for cartoons. That's the price I pay for getting a monopoly respite. (Monopoly update: grandson got in trouble for poor sportsmanship so we are taking a break. Grandma does not allow gloating at one's sister until she cries.)
