Love is a Battlefield
IDF soldier received heart shaped cookie somewhere near the Lebanon border...
Yeah...I think this is VERY wrong...and I am sad and angry at the same time.
I was angry with President Bush for going along with the resolution...but it was pointed out that he gave Olmert plenty of time to "win" the war..but Olmert just didn't do HIS job...
I feel so sorry for the Israeli people...and especially the troops, and the families of the dead troops...what did they die for?? To back out again?? even though they had a month??
You must have had a hard day...I don't think I could lurk and not want to post...I don't know what I would have done with my anger.
I am assuming these threads will continue..as far as I know, the Israelis are still fighting even now...at least through Sunday when the Israeli cabinet votes on that horrible resolution.
Please join in tonight.
British European's UK
Are you serious? Did he?
I turned everything off after the vote and walked my dogs..watched HGTV for a bit..folded the laundry...
I think you and I are in basic agreement.
I just see some here overreacting and claiming acting as if the Arab hordes are at the gates of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and the Zyklon B being prepped as we speak.
If we compare the situation today to what it was two months ago, I think there is a slight improvement in Israel's position. Notice I said slight.
Hezbollah has at least 5000 less rockets than they had. They've lost 500+ dead and probably over 1000 wounded. They've incurred billions in damages to Lebanon. They spent six years building up S. Lebanon and much of that has been taken out. Etc...
Like you, I would have liked to see the IDF go in with over 100000 troops and kill and blow up everything from the border to Baalbek. Unfortunately, that wasn't going to happen. Given the political leadership in Israel, this outcome is really the best that could have been hoped for.
It's clear that Israel was never really serious about this.
Hopefully they will learn some lessons for the future re decisiveness, ATGM tactics, the limits of air power and the need for more powerful bunkerbusting munitions, the need for more MLRS systems etc.. and they will be better prepared for the next tme.
I just see some making this out to be the Appomatox of the War on Terror and I'm just not ready to go that far yet.
Thanks, I had never heard that term. It was what I thought was happening, just didn't have a name for it.
Those KOS Kool-aid kids are A-OK with Ellis. He and Juan Williams are the resident DNC hacks at Fox.
I can't remember exactly now...but it was along the lines of "political pressures"...like the problems he is having at home now...where even the GOP is backing away from him like he has cooties...
I got the impression that he thinks Bush should, but that it is a step that would be so HUGE, he understood if Bush couldn't.
He did scare the crapola out of me...and the fact that he used to be an aide to Bibi Netanyahu means he has been privvy to some explosive international stuff..
Hi, glad to see you're still here. I just got back. Got a quick update?
Olmert may have given in, but the Israelis have not.
Nope, I refuse to believe that those young warriors died in vain. Something is up and there is a reason for this.
Some are repeats
Very good post...
Yes, after watching the UN speeches...I can see that Hezbollah, although not required to be disarmed...WILL be watched..if not by the UN (please)...but by US, and Israel...because after tonight...is there any way that Olmert keeps his job??
If Bibi gets back in as PM...I would look for him to figuratively park his butt on the border and make SURE Hezbollah isn't rearming..
BTW..did you notice all of the tears for the Palestinians in the Gaza strip??? They were given Shangri-La compared to what they were used to..when given the Gaza...and they tore it into shreds!!!
How do they "thank" the Israelis for leaving their homes and kibbutzes??? By firing kassam rockets at them!!!
A friend called to tell me Free Republic was mentioned on BOR tonight. The idiot lib with the white hair (name excapes me) Hellican? Ellicut? ..apparently said to BOR..places like Free Republic and News Max..no one takes them seriously.

He only wishes he had as many people reading his tripe as read FreeRepublic.
For the first time, I am glad that Ari is in a coma, because if he could see what is happening, it would absolutely kill him.
As drafted, it would make it very difficult for Lebanon to deny responsibility for the actions of Hezbolla again. If (when) things heat up again, they're going to have a much harder time playing the 'victim' card.
No...I was watching the UN council speeches..then turned to Hannity and Colmes...
Jennifer was just on...but my HUSBAND talked just as she did and I didn't hear her...grrrrrrr.
So..I don't know what is happening in Israel/Lebanon right now.
