A vacillating leader is worse than no leader. Got to have a man steady at the helm, and it doesn't look like they have any confidence in his abilities to lead a war.

It looks like the military is ready to crush all their enemies but the politicians are just being themselves. Olmert looked tough to start with but appears to be wimping out real quick.

"This makes me more mad than ever at this moron coward Olmert. Bush is trying to fight the same way in Iraq though."

War is hell. It seems the muslims understand this, and embrace it. Our leaders, the Israeli leaders, and the "hawks" on the left, seem to think you can fight a war with targeted bombings, surgical strikes, and defensive positioning. They seem to believe a war can happen without death.

The muslims wish for death. Our soldiers are the finest. The Israeli military is very good as well. I'm afraid our military capablity will be neutralized by our leaders being totally beholden to the PC crowd.

A war is a war. Take off the kid gloves. Kill the enemy, as many as you can. If civilians die, that is not our fault. It is the fault of the people who put them in harm's way. If the Lebaneze civilians get fed up with the violence, perhaps they will turn on hezbollah. Until then, if they die, they are part of the enemy, and that is war.

Watching FNC right now I could see a coup happening.

I don't know what is up with Olmert.

I do. He's labor party. Imagine John Kerry as PM of Israel. Bobbing and weaving trying to fight a war without really fighting it.

No way. There will be a vote of no confidence in Olmert followed by a likud member (Bibi) running for office.

Although the Premier has yet to admit his decision, let alone provide a satisfactory explanation, it seems that he hoped futilely for a limited war

There is no such thing as a winnable, limited war against islamic extremism.

Olmert screwed up big time, and as such put Israel in even greater danger.

I would love a military coup if it's done by the right people. Such a coup woould show the feral Muhammadans that the Jews are serious as can be. Would strike fear in their black black hearts. A nation run by the military is hardly a catastrophe. Many nations have gone military then reverted to civilian rule.

If jerkoff civilians cannot handle war, if they sacrifice Jewish boys to their hesitant war planning, then I'm all in favor of the military running the war 100% as in a military coup de tete. This is serious, this is national survival for Israel because the Iranians are waiting in the wings and so is Gaza. Iran can arm Hamas with missiles and anti tank missiles and we'll have the same mess there in Gaza too.

I posted a few days ago that a military coup de tete was a possibility http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1679733/posts?page=36#36 ---->>>

I believe the IDF got some big surprises from Hizb'Allah a few weeks ago but quickly adjusted tactics to the new reality, the new war situation. I believe the IDF told Olmert to stop micro managing the war, to get lost or there might be a military coup de tete. The IDF are doing very well now. Many Hizb'Allah villages of South Lebanon will be rendered uninhabitable so they can no longer function as Hizb'Allah support bases

As I have said before over the last two days. Olmert is a Liberal Islamofascist enabler. He seeks to establish his liberal Utopia of peace and will go to any cost, and now has traduced his own nation.

We have these kinds of liberals in the USA who would do the same or worse. They are Islamofascist enablers too.

Olmert should resign and allow Bibi to take command, for if not, he stands to ruin the democracy that Israel has become, for Zion must survive, and a coupe will ensue if Olmert does not step down.

G-D moves in mysterious ways, and can be impatient as the Liberal Israelis in the Knesset worship their false gods, their golden calf of bleating submissive peace under which Zion would be no more. G-D will not allow this for his children, and he will take Olmert if no one else will.

The pillar of fire has carved the sky waiting and now will descend on the Liberal iconoclasts of the Knesset.

And what lesson is there in this for us? Look on in abject horror, for likewise there goes the USA should liberal socialists seize control of Congress and the Presidency, and we too will be forced to instigate a coupe for our very survival as a nation.

Olmert would rather follow the hysterical imprecations of back channel communications from the likes of Jimmuh Carter, Bill Clampon,John Ferry, and Vermont's village idiot Howard Dean, rather than the sage advice of George W. Bush, or his own citizens and soldiers. Why? Because Olmert considers himself morally superior to his fellow Israelis as liberals do all over the world.

The liberals of the world have united, and O Zion, your anguish rends my heart!

The Israeli economy is being smashed by the mass evacuations and sheltering in northern Israel made necessary by Hezbollah's bombardment.

This economic damage makes it necessary to eliminate Hezbollah ASAP. Olmert's ditheirng has tanked Israel's economy as much as a truly mass mobilization of the Israeli army.

This is why Israel's wars must be short, sharp and decisive.

Eliminating Hezbollah does not require a mass mobilization. A callup of @ 100,000 reservists would be adequate.

Israel's political system is so screwed up that it tends to put people like Olmert in charge, and keep them there. Firm decisive leadership is anathema for the Israeli political system. When Israel ceases to exist, that will likely be the cause. Olmert is just its current expression.

I don't want to hear from any of the Condi bashers on this board. I have been telling people for four weeks that the central problem of this war has been Olmert and Peretz and their indecisiveness. There must be a vote of No Confidence in this execrable Government!

There will be a major war between the U.S. and Israel on one side, and Iran, Syria, and the Terrorist International on the other. We cannot tolerate an Israel being led by a half-stepper like Olmert. Netanyahu must rise to command!

This has played out exactly like the Czech crisis of 1938. Now, a major war, if not a world war, is inevitable.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

A lot of Generals don't like Olmert -- that's completely true -- but the idea that there's anything like the climate that could produce a coup is insane. A lot of generals don't like Rumsfeld either, but anybody who thinks they're about to lead their troops on Washington had better check himself into an asylum.

Islam is a barracks religion. Muslims are always thinking of war and other ways, such as demographics, to conquer the infidel. With such feral enemies you just might need a nation with the military called the shots

Everyone hears what Ahmadinejad has been saying about wiping out Israel. This might be when a military run government is just what you need to stiffen up Israeli's backbones.

I heard an interview on the radio with a Israeli reporter. He claimed no body liked Olmert and his conduct of this war. He has 2 sons and neither have served in the Israeli military which is required of all citizens. One son is in NYC and is actively campaigning against the war and the other is in Paris.
