Five London Suspects Still at Large
ABC NEWS ^ | 8-10-06 | ABC NEWS - BRIAN ROSS

Posted on 08/10/2006 11:13:52 AM PDT by eyespysomething

Five of the suspected London terrorists are still at large and are being urgently hunted, according to U.S. sources who have been briefed on the airplane bombing plot.

Officials tell ABC News 24 people now have been taken into custody. Twenty-two are believed to be of Pakistani descent. One is Bangladeshi, and another is of Iranian descent, according to the officials.

One of the arrests was made in the northeastern London suburb of Walthamstow. Residents said police took away a man in his late 20s at 2 a.m. today. The neighbors said the man was British-born, with one parent who is Iranian and had recently become very religious.

"One of the arrested is an Iranian."

A token Shi'ite.

Terrorist affirmative action.

And I thought they were all "British born Asians", per the news.

Gotta watch out for those Mongolian and Nepalese terrorists...

To Americans, "Asians" are people from the far East, like China, Japan and Korea.

In the UK, an "Asian" is a Pakistani, Indian or Middle Easterner.

Probably the rest of those students floating around the U.S. hitting some strip clubs.

Special Order 40, which originated 17 years ago with the L.A. City Council, mandates that police not question anyone they arrest about their immigration status until after criminal charges have been made.

as a result the once respected LAPD is nothing more than a grin & wave patrol in a sea sanctuary of phony immigrants and criminal aliens. Los Angeles has become truly MonsterUrbania

Why is it when Christians becomes "very religious" they do stuff like become a minister, go on a medical mission, evangelize and the like, but when a Muslim becomes "very religious" he wants to kill people? Just asking.

When a Christian becomes very religious it is cause for fear and concern. The religious right is taking over the country and forcing their values on everybody else. /saracsm

When a Muslim becomes "religious" it is not a cause for fear or concern, but a cultural choice to be respected by others. Glad I could enlighten you.

I think that goes for Muslims worldwide as well. Most are Sunni while a minority (25-30%?) are Shia. Iran is an "oddity" in this regard as it's a majority Shia country. I read about this a few months back.

Check their operating manuals.
New Testament (with some peeking into the Old Testament)
for the Christian.
The Koran and Hadiths for the Muslim.

If each follows faithfully the commandments in their respective text(s),
you've got your answer right there.

And bear in mind that Christians can really go off the rails as well.
But at that time they've departed from their operational manual.

Remember these Indian guys?

Arrested Men's Shaved Bodies Drew Suspicion of the F.B.I. October 26, 2001
Families shattered over arrest (Azmath illegal in US 9 years)

One of them married his Pakistani first cousin.

Cross-Border marriages

Tasleem and her first cousin Azmath married in March last year.

She had arrived in Hyderabad a week prior to the marriage.

Marriages between Indians and Pakistanis are common in families divided during India's partition and creation of Pakistan in 1947.

Immigration experts say there is a convention under which a Pakistani national marrying an Indian is granted permission to stay in India.

"And this is Bush's fault because we didn't get them all in one operation."

No, but it's Bush's fault that our borders are still wide open, 5 years after 9/11, and our State Dept. still issues U.S. visas in the Middle East, to almost anyone that asks for one, as if 9/11 never happened.

They might decide to hide out in the USA, perhaps someplace like Montana, find a college, study English and just keep a low profile...

You're right. Now we're in a geopolitical situation were the majority sunni governments are weak, and the shia nation of Iran is perceived by muslims as the strong horse.
So although shias are a minority, they are being perceived as more powerful than their sunni counterparts. This is a byproduct of destroying saddam's dictatorship (saddam was considered the sunni barrel of the gun) and the Taliban in Afghanistan. In order to establish a countervailing power, the US and her allies must deliver a mortal blow to the terror-masters in Teheran.

They should do a survey today in Britain: what percentage of British Muslims are disappointed? What percentage sympathize with the "men of Pakistani descent"? What percentage would have celebrated had the plot gone forward?

If they were honest about it with the pollster you would probably have to deport 75% or more.

I guess we know where Osama Bin Laden's been hiding out.

My thoughts, too. My husband insists Os is in Iran.

If they'd just put out a "bolo" with their names and birthdates, I'm sure the British populace could help them locate them. (end/sarcasm)
