Many Democrats may hate the war in Iraq and itch to dump the president, but a new GOP survey shows that Republican base voters stand ready to jam the November polls to return their team to Congress. A three-page-survey memo obtained by Washington Whispers reveals that despite reports of some dissatisfaction with the economy, the war, and President Bush, 81 percent of Republican voters are "almost certain" to vote and an additional 14 percent say they are "very likely." It goes without saying that they'll vote Republican: By a margin of 84 percent to 6 percent, they will pull the GOP toggle switch in the voting booth. And here is something you don't hear very often: 88 percent of Republicans approve of how the prez is handling his job. What's it all mean? Analysts say that GOP voters are ready to dig in and play defense against the charges Democrats are tossing at Republican candidates.
The memo also helps to define what issues work for Republican candidates. The survey--officially tilted "Base Mobilization Survey Finds and Conclusions"--divided the issues into foreign and domestic. On the foreign side, it's all terrorism and war with polling that finds GOP voters back the war, worry about Democratic attacks on the fight against terrorism, and think the Patriot Act, moves to tighten the border, and even telephone surveillance are good things. And their favorite domestic issues aren't a surprise: They are pro-tax cuts, big on cultural values, and worried that Democrats want to put too much bureaucracy in healthcare. Another nonshocker: They don't like the media's war stories, thinking that they are too negative. Some 60 percent of the GOP base expresses "extremely high dissatisfaction" with the coverage of the war.
By his bizarre but persistent defense of a banned troll, Badray has kept this great thread bumped, and made more people aware of how unified we Republicans are.
That's gotta make him crazy! :)
Look for the (R) by his name. Thats generally a clue. ;^)
That (R) by his name brings us something, even if he is a rhino/moderate/(m)ilk. We'll fight together in the next primary for the most conservative.
Hey, didn't I contribute? :^>
Every Republican that I know has donated to the party AND also wisely knows that the alternative to Republicans winning is simply NOT acceptable! I don't care what someone's personal beef (insert, "issue) is. I'm willing to swallow a bad piece of meat now and then as long as the cow I got it from wasn't contaminated from nose to tail (insert, "Democrats").
>>> That R represents ruse and rigged. It ensures that many will vote for him as a validated selection when he was nothing more than a gimmick, a Trojan Horse, and was used to serve those who profited most by his being selected and elected. His refusal to play hardball with the support of the Republicans in the Senate and Assembly has done nothing to stem the spending or proliferation of more socialism in this state. It was a hollow victory that will cost this state billions in wasted revenue into the foreseeable future. To those of you here who see that as a victory, I say , for shame.

We'll fight together in the next primary for the most conservative. <<<
>>> That is all we have to look forward to is the next primary, the last one was a sham, a rigged convention ensured that.
LOL! Yeah............ya done good! :)
And this is why you are a clone of beeler.
Funny how your fullback is always attempting to assassinate another's character.
How telling of your own inability to reason at any discernible depth the mess we are in and to just accept more of the same as satisfactory with some hope it will all get better without putting up any fight.
fallback
Wasn't an attempt to assassinate character, it was an expression of contempt. You vote against the republican you help the demonrat. That's contemptible.
again, the discernible difference is nil, imo.
and your mother dressed you like a girl when she sent you to school. lol
alright, we agree on a few things, and don't on quite a few other things. nothing new there nor likely to be.
see ya around, I got other birds to pluck.
Explain my 'leap of logic' based on your original comment."
Since you don't see it for yourself. I'll be happy to explain. I said that keeping his pants on wasn't the only measure of being honorable. Your reply stated that you think that I do think it is the only measure. You were wrong in fact and in logic. That was your leap.
Please. Inform your meaning about 'pants down' to me...... dishonest and stupid as I am...."
Remember, you said that, not me.
I didn't say 'pants down'. I said pants on. Small difference, but we are trying to be precise, aren't we? That comment was in response to Dane's reference to Clinton. There are plenty of men who have never cheated on their wives but are no less dishonorable in other ways. I consider fidelity to an oath to be crucial to one's honor. Bush has not faithfully executed his office nor has he defended the Constitution or the nation against 'all enemies foreign and domestic'.
I support the President when he's right, disagree with him when I believe he is wrong, and respect him at all times, since he has earned that respect.
That's your opinion. I believe that he has not more often than he has.
"Perhaps that's because I was raised with a level of respect that clearly eluded you."
i think that you 'respect' too easily. Doing so cheapens the word.
As for the 'bad,'.....it was a joke. I see that humor has also eluded you.
When I am being insulted, I don't usually see the humor.
That's why we have nothing in common. I'm respectful and have a good sense of humor, and you are neither.....
You know not of what you speak. I am just more careful in deciding who to respect (BTW, did you respect Clinton too? He held the same office.) I do have a sense of humor. I saw your attacks on beeler and decided that you aren't worthy of my humor. My ridicule, sure. My humor, no.
So the 'Good-bye' is just fine with me. There are people on this forum with whom I have much in common as a moral conservative and a good judge of character. I'd prefer spending my time with them rather than wasting it with you.
LOL Sure you do. That's why you posted to me so often in my absence after saying that 'good bye is fine'. Think before you type.
Besides, I want to hold politicians to a high standard while you excuse their bad acts and yet you proclaim that you are the moral conservative. You do have a sense of irony, if not humor.
"That is, assuming you have the intelligence or honesty to actually come back and explain......"
You really did miss me, didn't you? LOL
Did I have to get your permission to be away from this thread? You should have told me.
"By his bizarre but persistent defense of a banned troll, Badray has kept this great thread bumped, and made more people aware of how unified we Republicans are."
You really can't get me out of your mind, can you?
Are you really proud of your behavior, and that of your friends on this thread? It's been positively despicable, yet you claim to be moral. Pathetic.
Keep telling yourself that you are unified and you may even believe it one day. But keep this in mind, without the conservative vote, your RINOs will have trouble winning anything. We will vote for conservatives who kept faith with us. We will reject those who sold their souls and the votes to win reelection or to line their pockets.
That is the position of a moral conservative. You claim the moral high ground, but you will defend and vote for pro abortion, big government loving, gun grabbing, open border fake Republicans. You support Party over principle and you think that you are 'moral'. Seems that you have sold your soul as well. Or simply are so used to lying to yourself that you don't even see the lie anymore.
So why don't you try to answer my question if you are able.
Explain how my conclusion about the your attack on the President's honor is wrong.
Just do it.
(And thanks again for bumping a GREAT thread. It's nice to see one of the politically impotent malcontents helping out those of us who are conservative and can actually improve the country by getting elected. You should change your name to GOODray, cause you're doing your part to help the GOOD guys out. :)
It may make you feel like a tough guy to attack a person's character in the anonymity of the internet, but it only reveals who you are........not who we are.
If you malcontents would stick with defending your positions on issues, and give up on the wholesale attack on the character of honorable people, maybe somebody around here would take you seriously.
But your phony, concocted accusations about Republicans just line you up with Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, and Howard Dean. And even YOU are smart enough to know how seriously they can be taken.
This is a common technique of one who has lost an argument, or is afraid to answer a simple little question, and I am sitting here laughing that you thought that no one would notice that you had done the same thing that you mocked me for.
Who says you don't have a sense of humor? You just don't realize when you are displaying it. HA!
Now please...........tell me where I 'leaped in logic' about your attack on the President's honor..........or people might think you have no answer. Of course, I KNOW you have no answer, but your continued refusal to address the subject will just prove it to everyone else....
I've got lots of real life ahead of me today, but I'll wait...............with a smile on my face. :)
Grow up.
