Many Democrats may hate the war in Iraq and itch to dump the president, but a new GOP survey shows that Republican base voters stand ready to jam the November polls to return their team to Congress. A three-page-survey memo obtained by Washington Whispers reveals that despite reports of some dissatisfaction with the economy, the war, and President Bush, 81 percent of Republican voters are "almost certain" to vote and an additional 14 percent say they are "very likely." It goes without saying that they'll vote Republican: By a margin of 84 percent to 6 percent, they will pull the GOP toggle switch in the voting booth. And here is something you don't hear very often: 88 percent of Republicans approve of how the prez is handling his job. What's it all mean? Analysts say that GOP voters are ready to dig in and play defense against the charges Democrats are tossing at Republican candidates.
The memo also helps to define what issues work for Republican candidates. The survey--officially tilted "Base Mobilization Survey Finds and Conclusions"--divided the issues into foreign and domestic. On the foreign side, it's all terrorism and war with polling that finds GOP voters back the war, worry about Democratic attacks on the fight against terrorism, and think the Patriot Act, moves to tighten the border, and even telephone surveillance are good things. And their favorite domestic issues aren't a surprise: They are pro-tax cuts, big on cultural values, and worried that Democrats want to put too much bureaucracy in healthcare. Another nonshocker: They don't like the media's war stories, thinking that they are too negative. Some 60 percent of the GOP base expresses "extremely high dissatisfaction" with the coverage of the war.
BIG DEAL! Not the HUGE pressing issue that some make it out to be, when compared to others. As I pointed out, we are a very hardy, robust, prosperous nation. It took us only a couple of years to undo the economic damage from Jimmy ( aka Peanut Brain ) Carter. But the damage he did in Iran, we are still paying for BIG TIME, 25 years later. Get your priorities straightened out!
Conservatives aren't supposed to be so wimpy.
Open your eyes. There are tons of us on FR. Maybe a few more of you Bush Bots, but we're everywhere.

Tons of extremist, illogical, uneducated trolls like you?
I have NEVER wavered in my support for President Bush and the GOP.
There have been some mistakes and there remains issues that I don't agree with.
However, any other president at this point in history and any other party in power, would have been an absolute nightmare for all of us, our children and grandchildren...... for generations to come.
You know, Howlin, you are the Karl Rove of FR. Your detractors have assigned you superhuman characteristics. I've seen this quite a few times lately. They seem to think you have some kind of Svengali hold on the mods - and that you shoot laser beams out of your eyes. Might even be responsible for hurricanes, too!
Just thought it was funny that this line of thinking seems to follow you around... ;)
Wow! I've been following your posts and they are incredible, especially on a day like today.
The so-called massive nanny-state you've been whining about, will cease to exist if the liberals are ever put in charge. And I don't mean the liberals will improve things, I mean we'll all be dead.
You're a seminar poster and nobody's buying your load of BS.
Have lots of kids, homeschool them, teach them our founding principles. Infiltrate cultural social institutions, like the left did. If we can't do that, build our own institutions, like we are doing currently. Don't allow the Feds to keep your tax withholdings so they can make money off you. There are tons of ways to affect things without wasting time at the ballot box.
Take responsibility for your OWN actions and words, rather than blaming it on others.
Like I said, I don't need the help of the Moderators to deal with the likes of you.
You have anything further to say to me I'll be happy to give you an email in private where we can take this little discussion off site and I'll let you know what I really think of your tactics.
DU infiltrators?
without wasting time at the ballot box????
Geee .. trying to get us to stay home, huh?
Besides you already freepmailed me to call me names. Be a man and keep it public.

The Left could do much more damage to this country in the long-run than the Islamofacists. Besides, at this point, I trust myself for my own defense much more than I trust our imcompentent and politically-correct government. Start the profiling of Muslisms at our airports now.
