British Terrorist Plot Thwarted.....connected to Iran?
nuconvert
Posted on 08/10/2006 5:50:57 AM PDT by nuconvert
This plot involved planes going from Britain to the U.S.....from the "little satan" to the "big satan".
I believe this is the Aug 22 surprise/announcement/firworks that Ahmadinejad has been referring to.
Anyone else mention this connection?

I doubt it. I think Iran is going to fire a Tapaedong 2 missile at Israel (Tel Aviv) on 22 August.

August 22nd announcement on the 10th? Wouldn't that make him crazy? Mike Wallace may have to reconsider.

Impossible. AP says the "suspects" are "home grown"... which means they must be from Liverpool or Manchester. Couldn't possibly be Muslims. No mention of Muslims. Must be some of those pasty British terrorists.

Possibly....I just speculated in #8 that this could be only part of the plan

Everyone needs to relax. While it's obvious Iran has their hands in many pies and needs to be dealt with, this August 22nd hype is going to be the biggest yawner since Y2K. Ahmedinejad just likes the attention.

I think the date 8/11 is more significant. (9/11, 6/11, 3/11...)
To: nuconvert
My guess is that Iran planned a series of hammer blows calculated to make the West squeal for surrender. They've already got the Left sewing white flags.

In regard to 9/11, 6/11, and 3/11, August 11 would seem far less significant than December 11.

Not clear yet- but for what it's worth- this investigation has been ongoing for months...and so far has Al Qaeda MO...

I'm glad you have that on good authority
"Ahmedinejad just likes the attention."
Really? So, he's harmless?

Bernard Lewis, the eminent scholar on the Middle East and Islam had a piece in the Opinion Journal two days ago about something happening on August 22. This date supposedly corresponds with the night they believe Mohammed ascended to heaven on his horse from the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Interesting theory, but I think this one has Al Qaeda written all over it. Remember that Zawahiri has been warning for months that something big was going to happen, and that Zarqawi had been up to something overseas before he was sent to Allah. This was probably it.

I thought the same thing this morning when I heard the news.
Distraction is one of the best tactics used against the enemy.
After this episode I hope the FBI posts the pictures of the 11 Egyptian "students". Immigration or Customs must have their pictures. I don't know why they have not been released. They have broken the law, and yet they remain faceless and nameless.
I'm on high alert, but I don't know what I'm looking for at the moment.
